Im not so sure, I think they will need a tube of touch up paint as well.

rouxroux 12-24-2008 07:16 AM

Hmmmm. fast acceleration/shifting with the VDC turned off...Nah, I don't think that will be covered under warranty.

Welcome to the world of transmissions made of Hand-blown glass.

holtjv 12-24-2008 07:37 AM

Tuner-poser car.

Porsche-O-Phile 12-24-2008 07:47 AM

Boy-ricer wet dream. Fugly car that draws all the doofuses out of the woodwork. I'll take the GT3 any day.

Now that's a shame

t951 12-24-2008 08:17 AM

Now I agree that the driver was an idiot.
And I agree that the transmission is clearly with issues.

What I cannot understand is why we, people who love 911s, cars that are ENGINEERED, are not fans of this car.

This car is the next evolution of Engineering based cars. All of the odd shapes and lines are there for a purpose. The car is science. It is has first year woes, and it can piloted by morons without extra qualifications....other than that, this car is incredible.

just my .02

holtjv 12-24-2008 08:42 AM

Really? My impressions from teh limited reading i've done about it, is that is Japan's nod to the Viper--raw hp, little finesse.

450knotOffice 12-24-2008 08:43 AM

Yes, it certainly is a marvel of engineering and is an incredible car. The styling and size are my only gripes - and they're deal killers as far as I'm concerned.

And yes, whoever crashed it is a moron because one of the things that car is famous for is that it is incredibly easy to drive right up to its very, very high limits. It is by far the most forgiving super car ever built.

Porsche-O-Phile 12-24-2008 09:04 AM

I like the 911 precisely because it's difficult to drive. It requires talent and if you're undeserving, you get stung. Badly.

It keeps the poseurs away.

masraum 12-24-2008 10:39 AM

The GTR has been around for years. This is not the first year. It's the first year of the new GTR. The old GTR was similar, lots of power and speed and technology.

911Rob 12-24-2008 10:45 AM

I'm pretty sure that's our boy Maxam from Russia; must be visiting the Country?
Looks like one of his cars.
;)

Axeman 12-24-2008 11:08 AM

Nothing a little Bondo can't fix! ;)

TGTIW 12-24-2008 12:14 PM

I can appreciate the engineering that goes into the car, and though it is a little slab-sided, I do like it.

Hugh R 12-24-2008 12:23 PM

Looks like he got T-boned and then rolled it

Zeke 12-24-2008 12:23 PM

Bo Stefan Eriksson is out of jail?

K9Torro 12-24-2008 12:24 PM

It was a " drifting " accident right ??? No big loss.

T :)
