The dish network

Dish Network dropped the ball and lost the ABC affiliate. I still have a year left on my contract. Can I get out of it because of an inconvenience like this? I feel as though my contract was to have all three network channels plus the package I paid for.

I'll be missing out on a couple of great bowl games and I am not happy.

Anybody have any thoughts or experience on this?

THAT is why I didn't try to save the $99.

Are rabbit ears / outside antenna a possibility or are ya trying to get away from Dish?

I hadn't thought about rabbit ears, didn't think I would have to when I signed up with Dish Network. I have a 2 year contract, I am in the first year of it, but I don't have the local ABC channel anymore - because when it came time to renegotiate the contract with the local ABC affiliate, Dish Network thought that the asking price was too much and they pulled the plug on that one channel.

I don't even know if my flat screen plasma tv has inputs for rabbit ears.

I just wonder if this is enough of a reason to get out of the contract and try direct tv or comcast.

Just thinking.

My daughter and son in law live in OKC. They got a flat panel over a year ago. They use rabbit ears only and get hd for free. Amazing picture quality.

Thank you. Just the kind of thing I was looking for.:)

DirecTV charges you to setup an Antenna input for local channels, and then charges you for the antenna, if you don't have one.

You should be able to use rabbit ears for the one channel you need, assuming your HDTV is a TV and not just a monitor.

Really? I have had local channels in HD for over a year now. Cant you get local channels in HD with DTV?

DTV didn't have local channels in Houston, so if you want them integrated, you have to buy extra equipment. Dish network has them on the Sat.

I just switched to Dish from Comcast. Since the hurricane, we haven't had good service. I had Comcast come out 3 times and they still haven't fully fixed the problem. I dumped them last week. Same channels, about $40 less and so far, excellent service. I did keep comcast for internet, but it goes out at least once per day for 20 minutes, late morning.
