PC motherboard, which brand?

Hi guys, between MSI, ECS, Asus, and Gigabyte, which one to choose? And which one to stay away?
I used to have MSI and ECS, both gave me bad experience but that was 10+ years ago. Are they the same now?
Thanks.

Why not Abit? Ive had good experience with them. I use an Abit AB9 which is a year or two old and still rocks pretty fast.

I tried to upgrade earlier this year was MSI but it had very poor performance, high CPU usage and some system bottleneck..possibly due to using a VIA chipset onboard, so I went back to Abit. I do heavy duty audio recording/editing on my system and the Abit has not let me down.

Abit is indeed a good board, I have also used Gigabyte...A lot depends on what your primary usage of your computer.
Like anything else, its good to do some reading and ask some questions before pulling the trigger.

Asus

I've used these m/b's on my own pc's and the pc's that I've built & fixed for others. Very good performance, good features, highly "tweakable" for overclocking & etc., and reliable.

+1 for Asus boards.

Though if you aren't interested in all the features offered in an asus, Gigabyte boards have been reliable for me as well.

I know next to nothing about 'puters but built my own workstation in 2001 with an Asus board and an AMD chip. I think that machine has gone blue screen of death maybe twice in 8 years. I put a Thermaltake fan on it that is hair-dryer noisey but it is almost bulletproof.
