Why do people post identical threads here and at Rennlist?

Seems redundant to me. What am I missing?

KFC911 12-28-2008 07:42 AM

Some real "gurus" don't frequent both boards (along with a bunch of others). Not meaning to leave anyone out, but Pete Zimmerman only recently began posting here on Pelican, and Grady Clay doesn't post on Rennlist, and I see no problem covering both board audiences for solutions/advice.

If it wasn't posted here, I'd miss it.

What's a "rennlist?"

It's not really so bad until you post the same thing on more than one 914 BBS. Now that's redundant. ;)

Rennlist usually moves very slowly, while a Pelican Tech post is often answered in 10 minutes.

But I will admit to feeling cheated if I answer on one & then see the same post on the other. I just feel so used.

I posted my answer on your post on Rennlist

Don Plumley 12-28-2008 08:10 AM

Unfortunately, the 993 board on Rennlist is about 100x in depth* than our own 964/993 board - there are a few very knowledgeable folks there so it's a good source to search and post. Their GT3 forums are also heavily trafficked - lots of track guys.

*Edit: Our own Bill V is a huge source of information, so no insult to him or the other posters that help out intended.

My prediction is Rennlist will implode within the next six months.

And no, I've never been a Rennlist member, rarely frequent it, never been involved in any controversy over there, and don't plan on joining...

Multiple personality disorder? To satisfy their alter ego?

Pelican is for pre 89 cars with some 964 carry over, Rennlist is for 993s and up.

Why the **** do people keep saying this?

If you need it, Rennlist has a pretty active 944 board. Pelican, not so much.

Jim Richards 12-28-2008 07:44 PM

We know how it makes you feel Steve. :p
