Used car of the day

Lets see how you all can convince me that this car is a bad idea:

I see no issues other than miles with both of them.

Not so big on the metallic green, but Alpine White on an M3 is perfect!

ChkbookMechanic 12-29-2008 02:01 PM

They aren't the 4-door version. Alpine white is a good color, the forest green.. not so much. The miles are both high for what they are asking.

Alpine White M3 is what I have, except 96 model. You can't go wrong as long as it hasn't been abused and has little deferred maintenance. I paid $11k for mine in May. It had 95k miles and was in the same family until I grabbed it. I passed on a lot of trashy cars beforehand. Paying a little more for a nicer car initially may actually save you money later.

That said, the 95 may be a fine car. You just don't know until you drive it and see what it needs. They all need something.

Super_Dave_D 12-29-2008 04:00 PM

That white one is like 3 miles from my house

masraum 12-29-2008 04:09 PM

Nice cars, but I'd be leery of the miles.

HardDrive 12-29-2008 04:57 PM

White one, no question.

You are going to want an intense PPI. Do a leak down test.

IDGAF27 12-29-2008 05:32 PM

Sorry don't see anything good with both of them.....
Milage is HIGH, price is 3 to 4K more than it cost. Color?! well there is a taste issue, don't like either.
Only good thing about them - few batches "BMW"; "M3"...........

Quickcheck cameback with these results for 95 BMW M3:

The rear shock mounts had not been addressed on the 95 M3s. Very pricey to fix if you get a bad one.

The 97 is Green.

Neither is a great deal. You can do better. Stick to the latest M3 you can afford and avoid the 95s altogether.
