Dick Clark.....

Please stop and retire to Club Boca Vista.

SteveinTO 12-31-2008 08:44 PM

What! And get out of show bidness?

pwd72s 12-31-2008 08:46 PM

He's tradition, man...What? Next you'll suggest doing away with the Rose Bowl?

t951 12-31-2008 08:49 PM

He is a depressing addition to the ceremonies.....he needs to retire. Those that have seen him for years want him to retire, the new kids wonder why this guy is on here.

widgeon13 01-01-2009 04:01 AM

Is he still alive??

Another benefit of not staying up to watch that BS.

Joe Ricard 01-01-2009 04:16 AM

I guess the stroke he had a while back has really taken it's toll.

red-beard 01-01-2009 04:40 AM

When he dies, I think they will stuff him, and then pull him out as a prop for each New Years Eve.

rouxroux 01-01-2009 05:44 AM

Uh, it's got a great beat.....and you can dance to it....I'll rate it a "9"!

LOL

OMG boy does that bring back memories.

How about the Spotlight dance?

Probably difficult to tell a TV icon to stay home. For those of us who grew up with Clark, he was forever young. He always looked 20 years younger than he was. The last 10-12 years haven't been kind, those delayed wrinkles and sagging jowls caught up all at once and it seems he's aged 40 years in that short time. Considering he must be close to 80, absolutely nothing wrong with showing your age.

A piece from one of the last episodes of American Bandstand. A show that aired 30+ years.

He was better this year than last. His speech has certainly improved.

jhynesrockmtn 01-01-2009 06:31 AM

He had to be better than Kathy Griffin who was on with Anderson Cooper on CNN. At one point, going to a break shortly before they went off the air for the night she was getting heckled from the quickly diminishing crowd. The camera was off but you could hear her say to the guy " get those di*&s out of your mouth and go get a job"

azasadny 01-01-2009 08:16 AM

I think the morticians did an excellent job...

....

No - that was a claymation type animation that people saw.

Not an actual human.

URY914 01-01-2009 11:48 AM

...and at the very end some women that I hope was his wife came in and they made out for 30 seconds.

Hugh R 01-01-2009 01:02 PM

I'm pretty sure that the problem is that he literally owns that New Year's Eve show.

URY914 01-01-2009 01:15 PM

It is called "Dick Clark's Rockin' Eve"

ikarcuaso 01-01-2009 01:22 PM

If it was Clark's decision to have Lionel Ritchie on the show, then yes, he needs to go. Ritchie was creeping out those Disney Channel kids. Yeah, that's really rockin'
