Yes, business or pleasure (or both)?
Lonely Planet has some good stuff to start with --> http://www.lonelyplanet.com/argentina/buenos-aires What do you want to know?

My GF is from there.
My all time favorite You Tube video is of the Argentinian police opening fire on a professional soccer team with rubber bullets in a full sized, jammed to capacity stadium, during a game. She says that when their dictator (Rosa) wanted all the blacks to leave Argentina back in the 1800s the president started putting their heads on sticks out front of their houses. No idea if it's true, but she says they learned that in school. Shrug. She also says Buenos Aires is very nice. Last edited by m21sniper; 01-02-2009 at 06:14 PM.. |

Mostly pleasure, but scoping business.
Not even sure what to ask because I don't know too much about Argentina. For whatever reason I've wanted to go there since I was a kid, so this year I will. It's warm now, which will make it great right off the bat, but I'm not sure what the "must dos" are. I will probably rent a motorcycle as per usual and go for a 4 day ride. I'm looking into the infamous Rt40 as something to do. But, what do most people do when visiting Argentina and BA? Anything I should be aware of as far as safety?...etiquette?.... |

Another tidbit from Graciela:
The cops that write tickets are not the same as the cops that arrest you. So if you get pulled over, you can tell them off. (She hasn't been back in about 20 years- this info might be outdated, lol) Last edited by m21sniper; 01-02-2009 at 06:15 PM.. |
