My GF is from there.
My all time favorite You Tube video is of the Argentinian police opening fire on a professional soccer team with rubber bullets in a full sized, jammed to capacity stadium, during a game. She says that when their dictator (Rosa) wanted all the blacks to leave Argentina back in the 1800s the president started putting their heads on sticks out front of their houses. Another tidbit from Graciela:
