USC vs Penn

Nobody's got porked worse than Penn St. through the years. Five undefeated season only two national titles. And one of those titles had a loss during the season. Back to back undefeated seasons and no title.
We'll get em' next year.

I'd think a perfect bowls game record from the PAC 10 should perhaps, just perhaps, make a whisper of a statement???

Seems like Penn State is in a pretty weak conference. They need to change, if possible, to see some real challenges.

Is this years Penn State team, also undefeated?
If so, I know some socal high school teams (Long Beach Poly) that could give them a run for their money...

Penn State saved face by hanging in there to the end. They typically play great in the big bowl games.

But, I think USC more than made their point. Year in and year out, the PAC 10 is a fine conference. Ask Alabama, Tennessee, or Auburn how they like playing PAC 10 Teams.

I was expecting more of a game, maybe I was the only one. Too bad we wont see USC play in the next round.

Living in State College, PA, I'm glad PSU lost. I'm seriously sick of the praise they get. I'm sick of the Paterno fandom. Someone has to put them in their place once in a while. They're considered gods here and I'm all for them being returned to mere mortals. (Does this post belong in the Politics & Religion subforum?) Digg me down, I don't care. I'm thrilled they lost.

Those Big 12 teams are ok, but they play a slow, lumbering style of football.

That's ok, if you are playing another slow, lumbering team, but they are just never ready for speed. They never see it, can't practice against it, and can't handle it.

Although I have to admit I didn't watch, partially because it's a game that doesn't really mean anything (PAC 10 winner v. Big 12 winner, who cares?), but also because the outcome was so predictable.

And you don't think USC guys aren't 'gods'? Brent Musburger even said it on the telecast. Without the NFL the players are celebrates. Ohio St. in Ohio? Oklahoma in Oklahoma. Of course I could go on & on. So you don't like people being put on a pedestal. I take it you don't like actors, politicians, (already know about athletes), religious leaders, world leaders? Guys with 911's?

Um... Penn St. is in the Big 10. I do partially agree with your assertion. But it is 'on any given day' I'll go with. Penn St. destroyed Oregon St. Oregon St. whipped on USC. Give USC's QB credit. He played a lights out game. Personal records for completions & yards. And Pete Carrol is an excellent college coach. Just don't say that up in this neck of the woods. He didn't do much for the Patsies while he coached them.

It's not about being put on a pedastal. Certain people deserve to be put on pedastals. But these guys are thugs, hooligans, and wife beaters. Read the Centre Daily Times. There's constantly stories about how someone on the team has been arrested for domestic violence, or breaking and entering. The mascot just got fired for a DUI! They're NOT gods. they're college idiots.

Those who fix their 911s, 944s, and yes, even Boxsters, themselves, are deserving of the pedastal.
