Anyone here play the drums?
Let's see your set and/or videos!
I bought the set new four or five years ago. It's been fun and handled me very well. The cymbals are a throw-together from older sets and donations from friends. The Taye double kick is one of my favorite pieces on the set. ![]() ![]() ![]() I use ear protection as everyone should when I play. I've come across these dampeners with headphones included so I can play along with the music. They're pretty good, but the volume on the headphones is a little low. I have to turn the Zune all the way up for some albums to be audible. ![]() I don't have any videos, sorry. |

Several drummers here on Pelican. Nice kit, BTW.
My kit is packed away in the attic. I haven't played in a few years but still tap my fingers and feet on everything I can. My drum kit was the very first bank loan I got. Bought a custom made Ludwig with a 16x22 kick, 14x14 rack, 14x15 rack, and a 18x16 floor tom. All in candy apple red. It has since been white and then we painted it black. I have my very first snare drum as well. It's a 1963 Lugwig piccolo I got when I was about 5. It's not original anymore but I will keep it until I die. I don't have any pics on my computer of my drums.

Yamaha Power series here. Been many a year since I used them though. I have been loaning them out to friends that think they are going to be the next Neil Pert. Usually after a few months they return them along with a bottle for me since I saved them the money of buying a kit of their own and then never using them

I'm not a 'real drummer', but I do have a full set in my living room at all times for the last 4-5 years.
Hit it a little this evening... KT

Mine was in the living room for a while too. Now it's in the basement where I play to keep the noise down for the neighbors.
People yell at me to stop tapping my feet and hands on everything. Dont put pencils into my fingers either... |

I haven't played in years although I cannot bring myself to sell my set: 7 piece Gretsch which I bought in 1980 when all of Gretsch's drums were made in the US...rock solid hardware, nice tone & gorgeous blonde finish.

I play a Yamaha set at church every Sunday, have a Roland VDrums set at home to practice on and a '79 Slingerland 12pc set in the closet. I've played the drums for over 35 years and love every minute of it!

Pearl set here, but haven't played for a while as I am still "waiting" to finish my basement. Myy wife bought me a Yamaha electric set with MIDI, phone jack, etc. for Christmas so now I can see if I can shake off the rust and get back to some more 2112

Man, do cracked, destroyed cymbals bring back memories.
I was lucky enough to be given a Paiste Rude crash when they were introduced as the drum shop I was getting my gear from thought it would last. Uh, no. I ended up buying a whole set of Rude crashes and destroying them over the course of a year or so. I guess I was kind of hard on them. ![]() They really cut through the louda$$ amps of our guitarist, though. And you are right, Charles, it's a great way to blow off steam. I'm at my desk right now doing paradiddles between my hands and feet to every song that comes on the radio. "Bad Company" is on right now. They don't really fit the song too well. ![]()

I've played for about eight years. I own a Yamaha Stage Custom in a dyed green wood finish (flat stain, its beautiful, I'll have to get pics)
I have several HHX splash and crashes, along with AAX studio and stage crashes. Just sold my HHX hats and AA ride and am awaiting to find a deal on new stuff (not because I didn't like the; I needed Porsche money) I use Fiberskyn heads. They never dimple up. I have been on the same seat of heads for 4 years. I use a Tama 3.5" piccolo maple snare, a rather rare snare, they only produced them for 2 years. Mine is #1250. I played Jazz with a band for a while, looking for a new gig around St. Louis. I'm on an album playing with a house band behind Reggie Thomas (pianist) I believe, and on several occasions played with Rick Hayden, a guitar player that played with the Dave Weckl Band. Also played on three occasions with grammy nominee trombonist Bill Watrous. Good times...

I have a Yamaha set packed away in my closet with Sabian cymbals. I wish I could play it these days, but I currently live in an apartment. I was just thinking about that the other day.

That's cool. I like watching that dude play. He has a strange way of playing a right hand kit left handed. Very unique, though.
Does he do anything like have a real job? Does he play in a band? I hear a lot of Portnoy-style licks in his playing.
