Anyone here done the Mille Miglia?? (Italian one)
I have watched four of five of these now from the side of the road, and even ran the Porsche as a pace car in 2002, but have always wanted to participate properly.
Problem is, it's difficult to get a slot unless you have a seriously perfect eligible classic car, and even then, the competition is intense. We (me and my co-pilot) were aiming for a very serious entry in 2010, but it now seems we have a shot at getting into the 2009 rally due to some cancellations—presumably related to the financial crisis. There's a whole lot of paperwork that needs to be done between now and May 2009, and I wonder if anyone here has been through this? Does anyone here know anything about FIVA vehicle certifications for example, and what is involved with this? We've been a bit blind-sided by the possibility of getting into the 2009 run, and are now having to play catch-up.

Always wanted to do it. There was a neat documentary about it on HDTheatre.
I'm hoping I can have my TR4 in it sometime in the future!!!

No TR4's eligible I'm afraid. To be eligible the car has to be a model and vintage that participated in the original MM. The last one was run in 1956 or '57—so the TR4 is too new.
