sirius radio has horrible service.

damn. i almost had a heartattack. i got disconnected TWICE after being on hold forever...i got the, "let me transfer you to the correct department"....click. TWICE!

then when i did get thru, i enter my phone# as ID and every single person that i talk to asks me for my phone number...

that was a long 30 minutes.

( i think they are outsourced. the first person was named "violet", the second was "jasmine". cute)

No wonder its .14 a share, What do you think Stern's stock is worth?

legion 01-08-2009 10:40 AM

Sounds like calling Sears, or the Illinois Department of Revenue.

GG Allin 01-08-2009 11:08 AM

When Stern's gone, I'm gone.

ramonesfreak 01-08-2009 11:12 AM

i have had mixed results with their cust. service. some people have gone out of their way to give me good and correct info, others blew me off and gave me bogus info..overall i would rate it a B+

ive actually become more addicted to the BBC news station than the Stern show

I miss Stern, listened for many many years on free radio, too cheap to pay for the service.

ramonesfreak 01-08-2009 11:51 AM

the service is $13 a month

i dont listen to the music much because i prefer my ipod, but the music is quite good, the news channels are cool to have in the car, stern is played 24 hours... i thought i would have kept my subscription for a few months but im going on 3 years now. i suspect even when stern goes (the reason i got it), ill still keep it

vash 01-08-2009 11:56 AM

yea, my radio went tits up. i had to get a new unit. when stern goes, i go too.

i do like the music, and comedy when traffic comes to a standstill.

I wasn't into the sat radio thing; my wife got XM for 6 months free and at the end she said, nah she didn't want to subscribe. sobeit. I got Sirius in my boat for 6 months free a couple years back; Ha! It's still works and I've never subscribed to it?

I've got it in my truck and home now; I like the music compared to the radio crap we have in our small town. Haven't listened to Stern, will have to give it a whirl?

My kids keep switching it to a station that only plays the top 20 songs (sirius #1), that is a crazy stupid channel, let me tell you! I like #14 or #15, but I'm easy to please, just dont give me the same crap over and over and STFU. ;)

Luckily I havent had to deal with their customer service. I had issue getting a signal at my house so I havent touched the radio in at least a year. I just listen to Stern on the computer.

lowyder993s 01-08-2009 01:44 PM

20/46 octane here

widebody911 01-08-2009 01:45 PM

My g/f has Sirius, which I listen to a lot in her car; the quality went to ***** with the XM merger.

slakjaw 01-08-2009 02:37 PM

When my company got me a new Dodge truck it had Sirius in it free for a year.

Was neat to hear Bubba the love sponge LMAO

I also liked the comedy channels.

As a Gen-X'er, that channel opened up a whole new world to me. Almost 60 years of music, all good. The DJs are one of a kind, too.

We play it in the background at non-music-centered parties. Old people like it, young people like it, and it isn't the same pap you hear elsewhere.

Sirius (as long as they stay commercial free) FTW

Channel 26 is good, too.

$13/mo is not unreasonable -- for some reason our landline, which brings us no pleasure whatsoever, is pushing $50.

(subscribing since '03)

ramonesfreak 01-08-2009 06:42 PM

yup, everything from eddie cochran to motorhead :) cant go wrong!

fingpilot 01-08-2009 06:50 PM

I had Sirius on a boat when it first came out. Was fair. Listened to 5 stations, the rest were 'out there'.

When the 911 needed something more for my Las Vegas to LaLa land commute, I put XM in it. Spectacular. It went into the Prius as well. Still have it.

Several months ago, the two companies 'merged'. XM has gone to $hit. Station off the air for 'reprogramming'. Commercials are appearing. It's still a commercial when you are trying to sell XM and Sirius to someone who is already paying to hear it 'commercial-free'.

Am about to drop it all when it renews in a month or so. Anyone want a really good deal on two XM recievers antennas and a Sirius one as well?

BGCarrera32 01-08-2009 07:58 PM

I am sooooo glad I sold my XM at $21 a share and my Sirius at $9.

HardDrive 01-08-2009 09:26 PM

I think satelite radio will be gone in 3 years. Internet radio will kill it.

I agree with that!
Plus, we're listening, so aren't we already subscribed?
