Got one from Wally world a couple years ago... blue numbers... feels like I have a dam night light on all the time... this thread got me thinking and I checked it and yes it has A DIMMER!!!:mad::mad::mad::mad:

Bingo..we have stuck with our old 90's red LED clocks and all the new ones with the super bright blue or green displays have been given away. Although now we really just use our iPhones as bedside clocks and alarms. Never had any interest in radio or CD or iPod dock capability in bed but I guess a lot of folks are into that.

my point exactly.
i use to put a wash cloth over it, now it sits on the floor.

This is a pet peeve of mine also. I just toss a pair of black panties over mine.

Hardly ever - and never when I put them on the clock :D

This is true.

Or the next best thing, my favorite alarm clock ever was a Zen alarm clock. Very gentle waker-upper.

I do the same thing with my clock. The Constant Gardener has been parked in front of the clock for quite some time.
I don't really need the alarm feature, apparently I have one built in. My little guy also has a built in alarm feature. When mine isn't working, his is.

My dog is my alarm clock. If I'm not already out of bed by 6:45, he will extend his claws and climb on me and just lay there telling me he wants breakfast. Good thing I love him because he owns me.

i think that is the one the wife just bought. it has a dimmer switch, still lights up the room though.

i modded my old one and plugged it in last night to show the wife and you could not see it at all. when i set it, the front cover was not on and it has a tinted lens, i just had to readjust the pot i put in and all was fine.
i am going to take the new one apart today and see if i can do the same on it.

No, mine works great now... that I know it has a dimmer switch....

My wife received one of those iPod, iTunes alarm clocks from Costco. The thing is great. You can dim it down to barely visible levels, it has 2 alarms and you can wake up to whatever music you want (or the standard alarm sound). Lights, LEDs, etc don't bother me for sleeping, but they drive my wife crazy, which means it (her???) ends up driving me crazy in the long run. Anyway, she's never had a complaint about this alarm clock and doesn't even dim it down all of the way. Will see if I can find a pic/info and post it.

Brilliant! Great way to recycle a bigger bit of the window tint I removed from my 911 glass last week. Thanks for the idea!
