Need LOUDEST Bluetooth Headset for 911 commuting...
 

Just thought I would throw this out there...anyone have a suggestion for a loud bluetooth headset?

I've tried quite a few (jawbone, plantronics discovery 655, etc), but none have been any match for the decibel levels coming from the engine compartment and the wind noise through the windshield/door frames! I have one that almost does the job, but thought I could get a good recommendation from other fella's that drive loud cars!

Best Audio I've heard was from a Bang & Olufsen Ear Set 2. Pricey, but audio that rivals their home phones.

Can't tell you how many BT sets I've tried. Had a Moto that worked great but was fragile and only lasts 3-4 months.

I know they are a pain but the best I've found is the wired sets.

The iPhone sets work really well since they are stereo, l/r earplugs so you hear really well and it helps dampen some of the environment noise.

And they hold up really well, ran one set through the washer and dryer, came out a bit mangled but they still work.

Plus the other nice thing about wired sets is they don't need charging and your phones battery life does not take a hit from the BT radio.

PS: Currently have the JawBone. In my opinion it's way over hyped/priced.

i gave up on bluetooth. i either ignore the phone or use a wired headset.

Alright...how about wired headset recommendations! They are getting hard to find now-a-days...

I have the cheapest Plantronics too - think it was $39. Actually works way better (for me) and is much louder than the jawbone. I think you need to go to try out a bunch of them. Everyone is different. That's what I did and I was surprised that the cheapy ended up being the best for me.

Seriously though, Check out the BlueAnt Supertooth 3.
It's a speakerphone and works fine in my '89 (but I tend to pull over when I need to talk for extended calls).

Agree, I prefer a wire, but they are increasingly hard to find. Even the wire is no match for my 911, though. But I can't even hear the phone ring, so no worries. Bluetooth is even hard to hear in my Mini (stock cooper S) at freeway speeds. Hate 'em

I went with a wired ETY-COM headset - about $40 shipped and it works great.

I drive a loud Targa (wind noise and loud exhaust). The headset has a boom mic and the pkg included a foam cover for reducing wind noise - lots of people comment that it sounds clear even in the loudest conditions. The earpiece sticks in your ear like an earplug - blocks out noise so you can hear; no problem carrying a conversation. For the money, it has been unbeatable.
