Rant about dead beat buyer

Flea-Bay rant

I know, I was stupid to trust people and made the mistake to listen to the winner of one Item, ( MANICBEATL) I auctioned of.
He wanted to have the item relative fast and promised to send payment. First I got nothing, than I asked him where payment is and he refused to pay for full shipping cost. He haggled over $1.50 the difference in shipping cost.
Still no payment arrived; he says he did mail payment. After 3 weeks, I questioned him and he promised another payment will be sent out. 4 weeks later, dead beat MANICBEATL still did not sent payment,
So if you see his name or bids on one of your items don’t deal with him. He is a dead beat moron which wants to take advantage of other people.
For me it’s not the money as much, as it destroys the trust in people.
I am not an expert in flea-bay and hate the way Fleabay changes rules to their liking. I can’t even leave a negative feedback on MANICBEATL account. On top of it, I have to have a PayPal account, that I can sell an item. I refused to sign up for a PayPal account. I rather sell it through Pelican and have less hassle. Yes I know, it might bring less funds, but at least Pelican people are more responsible and don’t try to screw around like MANICBEATL .

Rant is over till next time.

It can happen anywhere... I made an offer to purchase an item pending pictures recently and never received a response from the seller. Finally got a response from him saying the item was no longer available.
Item is for sale again for more than the agreed price....
Oh well.....

I make the buyer drive to me. If they want to haggle then they can leave empty handed.

Craigslist can bring out the weirdos, but you just need to know how to manage them. I don't pick up calls unless I recognize the number, I let them leave a message, and only respond to 'non crazy' e-mails. The guy trying to trade me a dump truck for my 911 was interesting.....

Never had much problem thus far.

I don't look at E-bay to much anymore.

if you list your number on something you have for sale, you should be considerate enough to take their call. its kinda like going in a restaurant and the waitress serving you at her convenience or only serving non crazies.
i hate having to leave messages, i get enough of voice mail at work.
slow day at work, i got nothin else to ***** about.

I recently sold a Jeep on Craigslist. Several of the calls were worth it just for the entertainment value.

I never leave a number, email is fine until I decide they arent crazy. I have sold everything from snowboard boots to a car on Kijiji (similar to CL) and have never had an issue.

I am done with Ebay; shipping, ebay fees, paypal fees at the end of the day it just isnt worth it.

There lies your problem, and yes, there WILL be a next time Fritzy.
Ha, Ha. Maybe it's the water in Turner Valley? Septic field should be 100 ft away from the water well.

Fritz, you could just change the names and you'd have my story of trying to sell my 944 on ebay last year, pretty much exactly.

Ebay is full of losers and deadbeats, people that want what they can't afford, yet still insist on bidding.
