Not much there really. Post your question on the PNW regional forum and I am sure you will get plenty of response.

It's over by Pasco. One of the tri cities, WA variety. Not too many trees tho.

I worked a job just East of there several years ago at the Ice Harbor Dam in January....there's a clue here somewhere.

I was just there back in May. Spent 4 days there. It is a nice quiet place. Saw my first tumble weed there. I hope you like Sage brush, well sage trees too.
I could live there.

I suspect the people of Richland will be upset that you forgot to mention them.

It's basically Rural America- with a Nuclear Reactor nearby.

Not a lot there really, dry and hot in summer, deep snow in winter, mostly production / agricultural work. No good restaurants.

Look at it this way - forget about Sushi.

If you happen to find human remains in the area, for god sake don't tell the Umatilla indians about it, especially if you plan to build anything there.....

If your looking for IT work, probably a good place to look, many new large data centers going up the Tri-City area (Kennewick, Yakima, Richland). House prices are probably much close to WI than the west side of the state. You will also get all four seasons.

Anyone FROM Richland knows why they left. Anyone living there has my sympathy and a promise to mention their town next time....which is highly unlikely.

Why sympathy? It's no more or less than any other small town America.
By the way, I had the misfortune to visit Vancouver Wa some time ago, now there is a place that could benefit from a couple of medium size thermo-nuclear devices, probably do about $10 worth of damage.

To each his own. I did not enjoy my six years in Boise, and the Tri-Cities is similar. COLD winters and HOT, dry summers. Cultural activities involve handguns or beer or both. You'll need magazine subscriptions if you want thoughtful reading material.
