Where do I sell vintage Tamiya Rough Rider and Associated RC10 parts..besides Ebay?

Back in the 80's and early 90's I use to build, race and sell RC cars and parts. Working in the industry I tested many parts from the large manufacturers because I was involved since the first Tamiya cars came into the country and had a broad based knowledge of the industry.

Fast forward today I have many NOS Tamiya and RC10 off-road parts and aftermarket performance parts. I am looking for an outlet to sell my parts to fund more Porsche parts.

I was looking at a Tamiya vintage website and I couldn't believe some of the prices they valued the items at. However they don't sell parts on that site, they just list certain prices of kits and a few individual parts.

I would rather stay away from selling on Ebay but will if that is my only choice. Do any of you guys know of a RC car website similar to what Pelican is to Porsche?

I know some of you may frequent RC boards and wanted to check with you and get your thoughts.

Thanks in advance.

Not list yet. I figured once I know where to sell them I will start to take pictures and list them. I have boxes full of stuff though. I use to buy 2-3 of the new items if I wasn't testing them for a manufacturer. I moved all the stuff with care from Southern California to Kentucky a few years ago.

I have an Associated RC10-T3 and could use some parts, but it sounds like you have a truckload. Ebay lot sale might be your best bet if you have tons.

The RC10 stuff I have is from the first series that was used for 5-7 years. I am not sure what B4 and T3 is.

It is a great hobby. That's great you and your son spend time together doing it. He will never forget it I'm sure.

The progression from Hot Wheels, Matchbox to home slot car tracks to large public slot car tracks to 1:10 scale RC cars still brings back fond memories for me. I would like to maybe get into RC racing again, for fun with some newer equipment. I think gas is what is popular now?

The Porsche hobby consumes all of my extra time right now however. hehe

Yep, gas is popular....we ALSO have a nitro-powered monster truck that is just insane - Traxxas T-Maxx. For us wrenching types, they are really a feat in combustion powered toys! We are new to this, and picked up all three of these RC toys used for about $0.33 on the dollar. After messing with all of them for a while, breaking, rebuilding, driving, and breaking some more, I am convinced that electric is the way to go. Nitro is insane, and there is nothing like the howling sound of that gas motor on a toy going 50 m.ph., but the gas engines are probably a little more trouble than they are worth. Electric is just put in a fresh battery, pull the trigger and go jumping!

Lot's of fun...my boy is the envy of the neighborhood, and the little fella can drive!!

i just got an HPI E-savage, it's fun chasing cars in our development, plus it'll easily run over just about anything at speed unscathed
with the electric trucks the charger is key, mine was about $90 and will charge 2 batteries at the same time in about 20 minutes.
i've been getting about 15 minutes per full charge but am still cycling in the batteries.....plus it's quiet so no worries with waking up the neighbors late at night

I didn't work for Tamiya. I knew many of the people there though.

MRC Tamiya was located in New Jersey when I was in the business.

I was thinking recently of trying to find a project to do with my GF's kid. He's in Jr. High now and figuring something in the mid -level maturity would be fun... by accident came across this thread.

kycarguy 935 or anybody else,

I'm looking for a newbie starter set
- used (if in parts)
- battery type
- cheap
- need all parts including the remote (lolo, or what ever you call it )
- 911 body kit would tie the kit between us!
- The idea of building from the junk bin really sounds interesting
- small issue of shipping to Japan

I've looked all over town and I keep finding $300 and up sets ... way above my budget.

Anybody got a box of spare parts willing to let go cheap ?
