Do you own a Blu-ray player?

Just wondering the breakdown here...

PS3 -- and it's worth it. Up-converts DVD to 1080p, and is firmware upgradeable over the Intarwebs.

Great device.

You can spend $300 on a middle-of-the-road BR player, or spend about that on a PS3 and play games, as well as have another Internet connection point. Let Sony take the loss on the BR drive cost...

I use a Media Center PC. It plays Blu-Rays, HDDVDs, Regular DVDs, and even stores all of my ripped movies, music and pictures in one easily accessible place.

I have a cheap Sony blu-ray player. My problem with the playstation is that it does not play music and that is what kept it out of my entertainment center.

I didn't even get a DVD player until 2002...

I just got a new Hi Def TV at Christmas, so we got a Blu-Ray player to take advantage. The quality is very nice.

I don't even have a flat panel TV never mind HD. Blueray would be a waste of good technology at the moment.

got one (sony PS3) but only have an old trinitron to play it on.

we didn't get the PS3 for the bluray, just a nice extra for the someday when we buy a new tv

I'm waiting for the $99 players to come out...

Also, waiting for my big flat HD-TV to arrive -- w/in 2 weeks... or so they claim
