Who needs all 4 jet engines...3 should do it just fine... Never mind. I removed the story because Sam pointed out that it was actually debunked a couple of years ago as a hoax. |

Oops ;) It was a DHL airbus A300 struck by a missile over Baghdad, nothing to do with the Chinese or maintenance. http://www.snopes.com/photos/airplane/airchina.asp |

True or not, the Chinese should stick to all-you-can-eat buffets. |

I'm thinking some captain is in a little hot water with the German authorities. From what I understand the 747 flies just fine on ferry flights with just three engines, not so smart to do a revenue flight like that. |

It was a hoax created by some irrational Chinese-hater to blame China for something new that they had nothing to do with. A European Air transport Airbus A300 (not a 747) that was contracted to DHL took off from Baghdad airport, was hit by a SAM, and crash-landed again at Baghdad airport. Unless the German authorities were hanging out there, they never saw these engines. The Unites States citizens have been programmed by the media to resent everything from China. This is just one more example of how quickly people are willing to jump on that "hate the Chinese" bandwagon. |

DHL at Baghdad: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1232221150.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1232221263.jpg Btw: the A300 is, by far, the best of the airbus a/c (imo, of course). |

Sam, thanks for showing us that. I deleted the story. |
