If it was a 1955 penny it would have some value, perhaps it makes the gun worth less.

This is a new gun? Get the slide replaced. I guess if you want to hold on to it for a while in hopes of it being a 'unique' gun, but wow it that going to take a while.....

I personally don't view defects of any kind to be desireable other than those that have come about due to wear.
