Furnace ignitor

anyone know where I could get an igniter for my Comfortmaker on Saturday

A service call is $3-400 for a $20 part

Try any of the your local hardware store or some of the big box store such as home depot or lowes. I can usually find stuff like that at my local hardware store and that is why I try to buy more at the local store instead of the big box stores.

You can try an appliance repair outlet. I once found an ignitor for a gas dryer that also fit a Carrier furnace

This just happened to me a couple weeks ago and my local Ace hardware had on for $39.99

First, you have to know what kind of ignitor you have.

Is it hot-wire or spark?

I was just thinking about this. The two places I called last Saturday were about the same price.

$150 for the service call, a flat rate of $200 (one was $180) for the igniter install and the price of the part.

It takes about 15 minutes to install it.

How is this any different from a payday loan shop that they are regulating the crap out of?

If it only takes 15 minutes to install DIY. That what I do with most of my home projects. Rarely will I hire someone else to repair anything.

Rick

I work for a large HVAC company. I do mostly commercial work. For a Sat. the above price would be in line for a weekend service call.
My company would have charged $129 just to show up then $125 per hour labour plus parts. In your case you would be looking at 1/2 hr labour plus $50-$75 for the part. Total cost around $235.
I wouldn't consider myself working for a payday loan company.
