01 LEXUS whinning and complaining

i heard the 01 team complaining that they where faster in the infield but porsche had more power and that was not fair!
i suppose they want the rules changed so THEY can win.
i just heard david hobbs say he was disappointed in the way JP took the loss.
i had a LOT of respect for JP before his comments.
i thought the 4 leaders were matched perfectly, that made for one of the best 24hrs in a long time, especially since Porsche won.

C'mon J-P. You're in NA$CAR. Brumos and Porsche have been bridesmaids for years. The only reason Ganassi and "Lexus" are even there is because they got breaks through the Toyota/NA$CAR dance. Then "Pontiac" got a bunch of breaks because they wrote marketing checks and were duly gifted DP and GT titles. Now times are hard and there is an opportunity to court Porsche away from the "other" series where everybody is unhappy with them for stiffing Rob and Chris Dyson, so Porsche finally gets a break. Yes, the "equal competition" in GrandAm has always been contrived. Ask Alex Job. This is the NA$CAR way. Deal with it.

It is nascrap, and like the WWF, a marketing tool. Think about it:)

It looked like the Lexus motor was torquier. I think the main difference was splitter & wing setting, more downforce for the infield or less for top speed on the oval.

JP is a good driver, but he can't handle a post-race interview (especially when he loses) very well. I think that's a big part of why he has bounced from IRL to F1 to NASCAR to Rolex. A racing team is a business and they need a good driver AND someone who attracts sponsors. JPM only does one of those two things.

He's usually the driver I listen to at NASCAR races, and he sounds exactly the same talking to his crew chief as he did in this post race interview. He complains about the car not handling but has no suggestions for what he wants done to improve it.

2 drivers from lexus both said the same thing about the rules being unfair. 4 cars nose to tail for over an hour after 24 hours, lets change the rules so JPM can win 4 in a row. even D hobbs said he was disapointed in JPM.

JPM is a f'ing classless idiot.... I couldn't stand the guy in f1 and it drives me nuts that he still gets work, kinda like Jauques Villeneuve, these guys suck.

Really happy to see porsche on top and I hope they continue through the season. One question, WHERE IS BMW???? I thought they had a new V8 M3 this year.

strupgolf 01-26-2009 06:12 AM

BMW does have a new V8 program, but it's going to be in the "soon to be a memory" ALMS.
