holy god, ice everywhere.

We have about 5 or so inches of sleet in Rolla, MO right now. All of it has accumulated in the last 5 hours. And it's still coming. Not snow, sleet. Ice. Everywhere.

I just went out with a friend in a Subaru WRX with some Blizzak winter tires and had a hell of a lot of fun drifitng around parking lots. That thing went better in the snow then my Toyota goes in the rain. It wasn't even affeccted by it. Meanwhile my friend in an 86 Golf GTI couldn't make the car move onto the street.

My university doesn't cancel classes for weather, it's some sort of policy or something, which really makes me angry. Even though I live within walking distance, there are many students who don't and some who have long communtes on rural roads (Rolla, MO isn't exactly a big city). I guess it's going to take someone getting killed heading to their 8AM class one morning for them to wise up and change that policy.

It's posts like these that make me so happy to live in Phoenix. I rode my motorcycle in shorts today. I can have snow anytime I want to make the 90 min. drive to Flagstaff.

That's crazy about the classes not being canceled. Yeah, it's going to get cold here today too. It'll be 70 until this afternoon and then when the front comes through it'll drop to 50 in a few hours. Brrrrr. I'm taking a windbreaker to work.

I love the Blizzaks on my MazdaSpeed3! I can drive through almost anything with them. Be careful!

Crap is already starting to hit up here. I'm 15 miles N of DFW. Schools closed in advance.

Yep. I go to school right up the road from stomachmonkey and they called it off at 5:30 this am. There wasn't even any ice! I went out an hour ago, in the Porsche, and lost traction in 2nd gear, but there still isn't any ice. I'm not complaining though, it's supposed to be bad later, and there are a ton of students/faculty/staff that commute 30+miles. I'm one of them, but I also have a Cruiser that will get around in the mess.
