This Brave New World....
An hour or so ago wife went to local grocery story to pick up a few things, beer and burger stuff mainly. For some reason? she had my Master Card and used it instead of hers. It was denied with a big red message (which she couldn't read). Paid cash and came on home (somewhat embarrassed).
I have a relatively high credit limit and pay off the balance each month. I Went on-line and checked my MC account and nothing unusual so decided I would wait til in the morning to call to see WTF is going on. Just got a call from our MC provider wanting to know if I had recently purchased $1200 worth of airline tickets in Singapore on Jetstar Airlines ?? Nope. Charge was cancelled, card is now cut up and should receive a new card in a week or so. The internet may be the 10th wonder of the world but it defnitely has it's downside. No idea where they got my number and the 3 digit security code but apparently some business I have ordered from has been hacked or did not have a secure site ?? Just another of the minor mysteries / aggravations in life I guess. Thhaaaats alllllll folks....

My wife told me to day that we are getting a new Mastercard, due to one of the processing companies getting hacked and "compromising" credit card security.
Dont recall the processing company but the card is thru USAA. Oh... Singapore is lovely this time of year ![]() Jay

My wife & I had to get new cards recently. I noticed a charge for 23 cents from an "Adela Services" when I was checking the account online. I Googled it and got a big scam alert. Like you, I don't know how they got my info. I wonder if they do the 23 cent thing to see if you check, and if you don't make bigger charges later. Or, maybe they charge the 23 cents to thousands of cards figuring most people wouldn't pay attention to it. What a pain in the butt for 23 cents!
