Phish reunited for a Summer Tour

Not sure many of you would care, I think Trey has some serious talent. It will be interesting to see what they play.

The Dead are touring this spring too. They're playing the old Philly Spectrum where I saw them at least 25 or 30 times before the tear the place down.

I saw that Trader, they are playing the Pepsi Center out here in May. Who knows, maybe I will be on the road somewhere when they are there as well and catch them.

What's worse than a drum circle at a Phish concert?

I have seen the real dead well over 100 times. When I owned my floor trading firm we were called Dark Star Trading. I am looking forward to the tour, and I am sure I'll take in a handful of shows. These days I have a family so I dont have the freedom to travel like I used to in the 80's and 90's.

Never saw Phish, no interest

I too have the seen the countless time, even followed a Spring tour back in 93, so it was near the end.

I hope to catch a show or two, but like you, I also have a family now.

Phish is playing the Fox in St. Louis for 1 night. About 2500 seats. I applied for 8 tickets in the lottery and got denied.
So did everyone I know who applied.
I'll bet they had over 100,000 applications for a couple thousand seats.

Unless someone hands me a miracle, looks like I will miss Trey and the boys.

I passed on the psuedo Dead show in Chicago, last time it was terrible. Not the same without Jerry. Some days Bobby is good, some not. Ratdog played with The String Cheese a few years ago at the Fox on the Cheese's last tour - absolutely amazing 5 hr show.

The last time I saw them was at Alpine Valley in 2000.

It was obvious at that point that the magic was gone from their shows and they were on autopilot. No talking to the crowd. No silly antics. I'm not sure if they even played any covers that concert.

Shortly thereafter they took a "pause" from touring, and broke up after touring again once four years later.

I don’t expect this incarnation of the dead to be like the dead with Jerry so I am not really disappointed when they roll around. For me it’s a time and place thing. Having seen so many shows at my home venue of the Spectrum it’s a treat to go see them there. My family was Flyers season ticket holders at the Spectrum too and I spent a lot of time in my youth watching hockey and going to concerts in that place. I am not running out to see them play all over like I would if Jerry was alive but I will take in both shows here and I hear they may add a third too.

last dead show i saw was in 1988. my favorite period is 69 through 74- didnt get to see those though, since i was born in 72

I saw Phil Lesh & Friends last summer at an outdoor show in the park on a warm summer night and he was absolutely awsome, to my surprise. having Larry Campbell on guitar doesnt hurt :-) that dude can pull off Jerry pretty well when he wants to. Saw Larry play with Dylan and was blown away then too. damn that dude can play

Here is the Phil show I was at.....its a free stream and sounds amazing

http://www.archive.org/details/plf2008-07-12.spyder9.flac16

Seen Bob Weir many times...some ok, some blah!

seen Mick Hart many times...eh, so so

I first saw phish in the winter of 1990 at a small bar, maybe 100 people were there....those were the days! That same year, I went to a bar in Burlington Vermont to see some band I cant recall and as we were waiting in line to go up stairs, Trey pushed his way up the stairs with his guitar... I wish I could remember who I saw....but anyway, he sat in...maybe one of you were there?

I went to the Phish show in Saratoga, just before the end..few years ago...just to be a part of the last tour and i would say it was not bad 50% of the time....but mostly a snooze fest

I saw Bob with Ratdog at a tiny outdoor amphitheater along the Poudre River in the Colorado Mountains back in late 2002. My wife was pregnant with our daughter, and we were maybe 15 feet away from the band.

It was absolutely awesome.

I saw Phish back in the early 90's at Wolf Trap in VA, and then a bunch of times through the 90's in Ames, IA and MN. We tried to catch a show here and there, but I think the last time I saw them may have been about the same time as you Legion, 2000 ish, and it definitley wasn't the same.

When Jerry died, the touring crowd basically just latched onto Phish, and it kind of went down hill from there in a manner of speaking.

I also saw Phil and Friends at Red Rocks a number of years ago, and man, it sucked.

"The Dead" in the same basic setup as this tour put on a couple of good shows at Red Rocks last time I saw them, so, it depends on the night.

Sad to say that my memories from the shows I saw in the 1970's and through the middle 1980's are not so sharp. On a positive note I cleaned up my act in the later 1980's and all the shows I saw since then are great memories. One thing is for sure that the thick cloud of smoke which used to fill the Spectrum wont be there with the way events have cracked down on that sort of stuff.

I'll take Gov't Mule over Phish or the Dead any day.

I love Phish. I have tickets to each night of their reunion show in Hampton, VA March 6,7,and 8.

Entered the lottery along with about 30 other friends. No one got a single ticket except me. I got all 3!

I wanted to go too, same deal. I have missed them every time they have been in the area.

I did however score tickets to DMB @ Busch last summer. THAT was pretty crazy. I never thought I'd smell that much weed in a baseball stadium :-)
