12 new Porsches and 14 VWs keyed

Sometime over the weekend 12 new Porsches and 14 new VWs were keyed at the Corpus Christi, TX VW - Porsche dealership. The sales manager was not a happy camper to say the least. Estimated damage at $180K. As he said, you just don't take new Porsches to the local body shop and have them touched up.

As of yet they haven't offered a reward but it's probably the only way they will catch whoever did it... Also they had moved to a new location in the past year and hadn't gotten around to having security cameras installed. Bet they get around to having them installed now.

I would buy one of them scratched up new pcars if the price was discounted accordingly. Still drive the same.

They should embed a key in the perpetrator's skull with a ball-peen hammer. Maybe they'd get the hint then.

I'm expecting more of this kind of vandalism as our economy continues it's slide downward...

Nah, stupid disgruntled employee. He/she/they probably knew about the camera situation. A guy I know(NOT a friend, just someone I know, that lives in my neighborhood) used to do that at the dealer he worked for when he had a bad day. He called in "pinstriping".

Sick f#$%!

A sad but probably truthfull observation. As the media calls it there is a widening gap between the "haves and the have nots" maybe jealous anger was the motive.

What's that saying about 'stupid is as stupid does'?

First thing I thought of. With millions on the line in inventory...... That would be THE first system operational, even before the cars arrived, if it were mine. Wonder what there insurance is like, $$$$$, if there aren't cameras

The news report intimated that the owners and police didn't think it was just a random act. More likely a disgruntled employee...

Reminds me of the movie "Raising Arizona" when the store owner was asked if he had any disgruntled employees and he just said: "hell, they are all disgruntled!!
