Yuck. Too much white space, no need to maximize a browser on a screen that size.

Few things make me more nuts than watching people try to flip through different windows because every window they have open is maximized.

i actually need mine to be that big, i work from home quite often, doing RC work on servers, on on a busy day i might have 2-3 RC screens running, and the change management docs, and our case tracking system and pelicanparts, and the newspaper websites, and a running game to get my mind to clear in between different tasks...

I have a 9 year old Viewsonic 15" LCD digital direct which also pivots, it's a feature I will not give up. Most websites are still set up in the vertical format like a sheet of 8-1/2" x 11" paper, scrolling less is nice too.

Many of the newer monitors still offer rotation. You can upgrade from 15" and still have rotation. Please, upgrade, 15" is horrible. Think of the children.

I am not a fan of widescreens either. They are a side-effect of HDTV. However I recently bumped to a 26" widescreen at home and it is very nice compared to the typical 21-22. Smaller ones are worthless unlike standard aspect ratio versions where a 19 was not too terrible. At work we give most people single or dual 21 or 22 widescreens depending on their job duties.
