CA DMV Title
Sadly, I just sold my SC today to a gentleman in AZ and have a question regarding the signing and transfer of title. He is currently stationed overseas but he would like for me to have the title and a bill of sale notarized and mailed to his wife so she can apply for a new plates and registration. My question is, shouldn't both the buyer and the seller have to sign the title? Can I have the title notarized, let alone with only my signature? What is the best way to handle this?
If anyone has any experience in having sold a vehicle out of state/country, your feedback is appreciated. TIA! |

The buyer does not sign the bill of sale which you can download from the DMV. You sign both documents, notarized if that's what he wants.
Then, you file a notice of liability release to the DMV on your own post sale. You will only need his data and the mileage. I just sold a vehicle last weekend. The AZ DMV will recognize the documents and process them notarized or not. |
