The 100% Columbian is excellent coffee, and better than most coffee, even for the price.

The French roast is great!

I'll have to talk to Sams club here, since they don't carry eight-o-clock.

I've drank if from time to time. CR reports rated the 100% Columbian as one of there top pics, so I went back to it. I can't say I was impressed with it after drinking the exotic roast that they have at Sam's or Costco. I find Starbucks bitter also. The 8 Oclock tasted like something I would get a breakfest diner. Not bad, but not as good as others.

I don't think anyones saying it's the best coffee on the market. Just a good buy for the price. I prefer Peet's, but it cost 3-5 times as much.

Glad the wife is still a cheap date. :D

Finally signed up. I got 520 points for a 42 oz bag.

red-beard 04-09-2009 10:31 AM

I just entered 2 large bags, and I put in for $25 and a coffee mug and a bag of coffee.

red-beard 05-01-2009 02:37 PM

Oh, now I'm pissed!

I received a note saying that I've reached the lifetime limit for entering product codes!!! There is nothing in the 'rule' that limits how many codes you can put in.

Bummer.

I was a few points short for 2 bags of coffee and 2 more mugs, so I submitted a new e-mail address as a friend. They will not allow you to register the same physical address. So I registered my parents address. I'm going to try to register my address again, but add an "A" to the end of the number.

Love 8 o clock, in the red bag. I didn't know about the points deal. Thanks for the heads up.

red-beard 05-01-2009 02:49 PM

I think there are only 2 months left on the point thing.

I've been drinking 8 O'clock for years. Never heard of this promotion, I'll have to check it out.

The local Publix grocery chain in Florida sometimes runs a special "2 for 1" deal, and I take about 8 bags home, then go to another Publix and get 8 more and fill the freezer.

I wonder how many they will let you log at one time-

N

From their website...

"Limit: Each Member can enter no more than six (6) small package Codes and two (2) large package Codes per month and no more than twenty-four (24) Codes per year."

Obviously to maximize the rewards, buy in the big bags. Too late now, this ends in 2 months I think.

I too got the message I'm done for the year. I'm sitting at 960 pts, but I did an email yesterday that they mailed my $25 Visa card that I redeemed for last month with 2500 pts.

To peeve me off further, Amazon just raised the price of my Eight O'clock $5 a month, so I cancelled when I found the local Wal-mart finally stocks it for much less. Plus I can use the in-bag coupons too.

I just logged on and entered two bags. I went to the catalog and everything is out of stock. WTF!

Missed that.

It was on sale yesterday locally, 36 oz bag for $9.99

I ended up with a $25 gift card, and 3 mugs and bags of coffee. I have already ordered a mug and bag of coffee with the new account.

Hey, I'll finished out the next 2 months, and then get everything I can. I like the look of the mugs. And free coffee? You can't beat that. I also have notes that the gift card and the 1st bag of coffee & mug are on the way.

Eight O' Clock isn't bad! Yuban is my favorite by far.

Back in the day before I moved to Seattle and became a card carrying coffee snob, I drank 8 O'Clock coffee. Its not bad.

Try the 100% Columbian. It much better than 'not bad'.

Again, I agree it's not bad. I'll put on my snob hat and state that I like to try many coffee's and don't like to stick with one for a long time. I enjoy some of the more unusual roast that have hints of Chocolate, nuts, carmel, and other flavors that go along with the coffee bean itself. 8 0'clock Colombian has plenty of coffee flavor, but thats about it. This morning I am drinking "Rwandan dark French Roast" It was from Costco and not much more the 8 O'clock. Very good. Dark but not bitter.:D

How does it compare to Dunkin Donuts? Been buying that at Costco.

Dunkin Doughnuts is a staple at my office. Everyone seems to like it and it comes already ground, which is a big plus.
