Best Free Real Estate Website and Tools?
What do you guys use to search for properties and how do you track both potential and owned properties? Realtor.com is nice but the search features are limited and you can only have up to 100 listings saved.
My friend uses realcomponline.com but that is only for licensed RE people I think.

If you're really into it, get your RE license; the benefits will far outweigh the costs for the right person looking for RE opps.

Rob, my best friend takes the exam tomorrow, and I've got friends who have been in it a while but...
I've never met an agent that didn't make me want to hurt people or break stuff. Even when they do their jobs well they still seem to piss me off. I'm not at all saying they are all like that, just the ones I've dealt with.

Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha! That is fricking funny mud!!!
My wife and I bought/sold many homes before I became a Realtor; then one day I came home and said to my wife...... "I'm gonna get my RE license and become a Realtor." She was shocked and immediately said back to me, "well the only thing that would make less sense than that is if you told me you were gonna become a cop." You see, I never really liked Realtors all that well; especially at that time where we'd paid out some commissions in the $50,000 range! Those hurt and you never forget them! What changed my mind....... I saw my personal Realtors T4 (tax) slip. True story. Now I R one. As for buddies being Realtors, I have tons of buds that I feed info too, but NOTHING can compare to actually having your hand on the wheel. Realtors get some of the best info on properties and it can make you alot of money. I've been a Realtor now for 3 years and I have no regrets. For the few pieces of hate mail I get, the million in commissions earned has far made up for it ![]() Good luck mud! |

Thanks Rob, I think I just happened to end up knowing the 'wrong' crowd. I'm doing my best to talk to(glean good information from) everyone in the game.
So any suggestions for software or websites?

Any local realtor website. Your local trustee's website (allows you to look up deeds and mortgage info). Local tax assessor's site (appraisal, basic home info, and previous sales. Find the local realtors that deal REOs. Contact their agents and keep an eye on inventory listed on their website. |

Sorry I couldn't help anymore. I only use the one type of software and it's for realtors only, but it is awesome!
Before being a Realtor, I would use the MLS site and follow several FSBO sites and certain Realtor sites. I did get access to the Realtor software from one realtor, I was helping him build a website, but without the training on how to use the software, it was pretty much useless to me at that time..... if I'd of only known what I had my hands on? Good Luck, hope you strike gold in RE! Last edited by 911Rob; 02-08-2009 at 11:43 AM.. |
