OT, need cheap Winchester blanks
For some reason .22 blanks are getting hard to find. I'm looking for .22 Winchester short black powder. They come 50 to a box and they used to go for 4 bucks a box.
WHEN you can find them they are getting over 12 bucks. Anyone know a source locally to them that has them in bulk? I use them as a track starter and I have to pay for my own rounds..... CCI and the crimped ones suck. Misfires and they go "pffffft" which doesn't set off the Automatic timer. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1234118849.jpg |
Can you only use short blanks, or any 22 rimfire short?
Natchezs has Fiocchi 22lr blanks; 100rds for $8.61 I've never tried any of their blanks, but all the Fiocchi ammo I've used has been excellent. The link should get you to the Fiocchi 22 blanks: http://www.natchezss.com/brand.cfm?contentID=productDetail&brand=XN&categor y=0&prodID=XN22LRBL Fiocchi's site, but they don't say much about their 22 blanks specifically: http://www.fiocchiusa.com/cat_blank.html |
Decided to use Ramset blanks. $50 for 1200 rounds.....works OK.

Get a 12ga flare pistol from marine supply place, take a 12ga shell (or a dozen) and cut down, remove powder, shot, and shot cup/wads. A primer is plenty loud on its own. Reload 'em yourself with a simple hand tool...
