Installing xp professional over xp

Is there any advantage to doing this or can it even be done without screwing up everything I already have installed?

No point. What feature do you want that xp home doesn't have?

I guess If I don't know what the difference is then I might just leave it alone! But how about having both? will it give me option of which to boot up with? I have a 500g drive now.

You can set things up to dual boot, but it would be better to repartition and have each OS on its own partition.

You won't notice a difference, unless you really plan to start a domain type network at home.

Unless you need to connect to a Windows 2000, 2003 or 2008 server, why bother?
