Love Calvin & Hobbs. Not to stray to far OT but do you know the author gets nothing from Calvin peeing on everything? I forget the story but he doesn't see one dime. Maybe someone else can chime in.

All those "Calvin peeing on Ford/GM/Dodge/Honda" stickers are unauthorized reproductions, and he is none too happy about them. Waterson HATES commercialization, and has never even authorized his characters to appear as stuffed animals, let alone stickers; the only products he allows are the comics and their book collections.

He is a recluse, living somewhere in the wilderness with his dad, who is some kind of artist. He isn't as reclusive as Pynchon or Salinger, but he generally doesn't talk to anybody in the "real world."
