Old Sparco driving suit
Really nice two layer jumpsuit.
How does this rating compare to current suits? Is it legal in any current organizations? Thanks ![]() KT

Well, Targa Newfoundland specifies:
FIA homologated driving suits conforming to the 8856-2000 or the FIA 1986 standards or SFI 3-2A/5 are recommended. SFA 3-2A/1 suit with approved fire resistant underwear is acceptable. So it looks like your FIA 1986 would be adequate - I'm not sure about the US, but it seems more and more sanctioning bodies want an SFI rating. That said, there has been a lot of fabric development over the last 20 years - most would want a newer suit anyway. Regards, Andrew M
