Just punch in "area 51" it will find it. Prepare to not be impressed.

Most sensitive stuff is blurred at the closest settings.

You'll find all kinds of stuff like that.

Was showing some people the N Shore of LI the other day and surprise, the LILCO stacks, power plant on the water, was blurred.

The North Korea/South Korea border/DMZ is amazing. Also, fun to look at Pyongyang metro area, then go look at Seoul. Differences are shocking.

You can zoom right in on what is probably the most secure facility in the US - the Y-12 complex about 5 miles from where I'm sitting. Not much to see, though...

I'm sure the really exciting stuff is not on their website.

svandamme 02-17-2009 12:38 PM

from the news letter pdf on the website

"yay ! we are back at one full year without a safety incident, y'all do remember last year , when John and Bart from assembly accidently ran a timing fuse test on a live B-72 and only noticed it at T - 2 seconds?? So let's have a big round of applause for all of you, keeping it safe since it's real enough as it is !!"

One can spend WAY to much time on Google Earth. I've looked up just about every track I can find, the Pyramids, Taj Mahajal, Sphynx etc...

Even found Chernobyl, not a soul around, 'cept tourists and cleanup crew ;)

The condos on Miami Beach are cool.
