I guess I should mention why I'm up so late and drinking-

I'm trying to plow through studying for an exam tomorrow morning at 9:30AM:

"Analysis of Orthotropic Laminated Composites using Classical and Shear Deformable Theories"

wish me luck...

ROWLEY'S CHERRY BOUNCE

1 gallon sour “pie” cherries (or ½ gallon sweet cherries such as Bing and ½ gallon sour)
1 pint of honey (sourwood, chestnut, clover, or tupelo)
q.s. Tuthilltown New York Corn Whiskey or Baby Bourbon*
5 3-inch cinnamon sticks (optional)
2 oz cracked cherry pits (optional)

Wash the cherries, drain them and lightly crush them in a large bowl. Transfer the juice, pulp and pits to a wide-mouthed one-gallon glass container and add the honey. Fill to nearly capacity with corn whiskey or bourbon and add the cinnamon and crushed pits, if you are using them. Close the container securely. Shake the bejesus out of it and put it away in a cool, dark place at least 6 months, giving it a shake now and then to assure the honey is completely dissolved. Strain and drink neat or serve with the cherries in a large shotglass.

Note: You may remove the stems from the cherries or not. Leaving them on allows you to snag them by the stem. I trim mine half-way. Why? I don’t know. It’s just the way I was taught. Maybe it looks better; regardless, the more of these I eat, the more little handles seem like a good idea.

* Whiskey amount will depend on the size of the cherries. It should be in the neighborhood of 1.5 liters

Boys- time for some weekend relaxin.

The local Kroger had a special on this fruity carbonated peach wine, $2 a bottle... so I bought them out. Almost cheaper than soda!

I got my swim trunks and flip flops on, hoping the sun will be out at some point so I can do some yard work....

I've heard so many stories and seen so many videos about our soldiers being ridiculed and spit upon for their actions in Vietnam... but none about the politicians who sent them there....
