Have you tried sleeping in a lazy-boy chair? Supposed to help...
|
today is not a good day
|
Have you tried the exercises? Still unbearable? If it is a "stuck" grain, somehow it must become "unstuck".
Best wishes. A fine day in Lotusland, being confined must be a drag. |
Here's a good site on BPPV and the Epley Maneuver...
http://www.merck.com/mmpe/sec08/ch086/ch086c.html The goal of the Epley Maneuver is to maneuver those otoliths out of the semicircular canal where they're causing the problem. Think of it like a 3D ball-in-a-labyrinth Cracker Jacks prize... you've got to keep doing it until you get them all out of there. I did it twice a day and had a vibrating pad (that I use for my back sometimes) under my neck and head, and I believe it helped me get them moving. The meds are important, too... if there's inflammation in the inner ear, it will inhibit your ability to move the otoliths along. Notice it says "After performing these maneuvers, the patient should remain erect or semi-erect for 1 to 2 days." That's where sleeping in a recliner or propped up slightly in the bed would help. |
I just discovered that the anti nausea stuff i bought has no medicinal ingrediants. it is made with ginger root wtf.
have not bought this Gravol in years ,guess this is the new green version,no wonder it has no effect i can't try anything until i get the right medicine |
This haapened to me a few years ago. I was driving down the road and made a left turn onto a main highway..... then all of a sudden I thought the car rolled over. Fortunatley, my wife was with me to take the wheel and guide us off the road.
Same symptoms........ thought I was having a heart attack.......scary! Went away in about 30 minutes. good luck |
Is this the same as Meniere's Disease?
http://bodyandhealth.canada.com/channel_condition_info_details.asp?disease_id=180& channel_id=165&relation_id=10833 |
The above doesn't sound like Meniere's - with which I've been diagnosed. Mine seems to be associated with allergies of sorts - my symptoms appear sporadically in the spring or fall, but I can go years without an attack. It's symptoms are vertigo, nausea, and tinitis (ringing in the ears.) My history goes back almost 30 yrs.
Meclizine does work wonders, but it makes me super-drowsy, even in very low doses. It is the active ingredient in Bonine, but a prescription for the pills will be MUCH cheaper than the over the counter option. |
Thanks to all who have emailed and PMed me as well as the replies.
Finally got some proper meds brought to me yesterday and has helped with the spinning and sick feeling .Mornings seem to be the worse. A lot of people have gone through this and when it first happened thought the same thing as I did. Some people have the symptoms a lot longer than others for some reason. In talking with friends we figure I have had something for 1-2 months now with last tues incident being severe. I'm waiting for last night meds to wear off, feel a little fuzzy right now . then later I'm gonna go right back out to the garage and finish doing what I was doing and see what happens . so to everyone Thank you very much .I really appreciate it .
