Anyone have a good garlic recipe?

This weekend I want to attend a garlic and wine festival in Ft.Lauderdale, and I need a recipe for a good garlic dish, since attendees are supposed to bring something. I don't have a clue as to what to make.

-It shouldn't be too complex; I've been known to burn water....

Thanx in advance!

Theis is an easy recipe & very, very good . . .

Great Garlic Chicken

1/2 cup butter
5 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Juice of 1 lemon
1/3 cup fine bread crumbs
1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese (the real stuff please)
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts each cut into several flat pieces
Salt & pepper to taste

In a small saucepan, combine butter, garlic, Worcestershire sauce and lemon juice. Heat over low heat until butter is melted.

Combine bread crumbs and Parmesan cheese on a large plate. Season chicken with salt and pepper. Dip each piece in butter mixture and then in crumb mixture. Arrange on baking dish. Pour any remaining butter sauce over chicken and sprinkle with remaining crumbs.

Bake at 350°F covered for 30 minutes. Uncover and continue baking for 20 minutes or until done. Serve with potatoes, rice pilaf or brown rice, if desired.

Serves 4.

another easy thing to make is a garlic and goat cheese dip.

there are many variations of recipes on line.... only problem is having to buy enough goat cheese to make enough dip for alot of people...its a little pricey.

this dip, whatever specific recipe you choose, goes great with wine because the goat cheese compliments wine so well...or vice versa. bring a few loaves of sliced baguette and a spreading knife

My buddy takes whole, raw garlic cloves and puts them in a dish with olive oil and some spices and eats them straight. Not what you are looking for I'm sure but it doesnt get any simpler. Not for the faint of heart but for the true garlic lover.

Roasted garlic mashed potatoes.

Very easy. Cut the top of of a couple of garlic bulbs, drizzle olive oil over top, maybe throw some rosemary over them. Wrap in foil and throw in a 350 oven for about 45min. Boil baby red potatoes (cut in half first). Mash with the roasted garlic. Add butter, sea salt, & ground pepper to taste.

I saw this on the" Spain, on the Road Again" series, clams in a large skillet, one whole bunch of garlic cut in half, a little olive oil and a lot of white wine. Cover and cook till the clams are open.
I thought it was too easy and couldn't be that good but have done it a few times now and really like it. My wife even got me their On the Road Again Cook Book for Christmas.
Gwenth liked it.

That's a good one.

Fingerling potatoes, garlic, whatever herbs you have, olive oil, salt, pepper. Roast at 400 until tender.

My neighbor tonight gave me an idea: He talked about sauteing garlic cloves, and then simply putting them on top of cheap "California Pizza Kitchen" frozen pizza's from the local Publix grocery store. He recommended cheese pizza.

-You know, he has a point: If you took these cheap cardboard pizzas to a party after you cover them with a bunch of fresh toppings...It almost looks like you went to a pizza place and brought a real pie!

I'm scared to make this recipe! I suspect that if I made it, I would want to eat it. And since it sounds GREAT, I'm sure I'd have seconds.

-I am concerned about my window tint peeling from my breath afterwards. I suspect that this recipe could result in breath that could probably peel wall-paper too....

Why did you even bother to ask this group if all your going to do is slice and dice some garlic and put it on frozen pizzas?

Why not try out the recipe?

huh? first of all, putting whole roasted cloves of garlic on pizza is a must. its heaven. (follow the link above to make the garlic) second, dont be afraid to make your own pizza. you dont have to make the dough. get some frozen dough or fresh made dough. any self-respecting grocery store should have some. then, experiment with a cookie sheet. you do not have to have a pizza stone or a brick oven to make awsome pizza

but hey, if you brought a cooked frozen pizza to my house with or without the garlic, your still coming in

this happened to catch my eye the other day...just skip making the dough, use a cookie sheet, and add the garlic

fresh mozzarella of course,...not that crap that comes in a bag shredded

Mine is somewhat similar

1 cup olive oil.
As much fresh garlic as you can stand. I use 6-8 cloves.
a few squirts of tabasco (prefer habanero)

Thick cut pork chops, boneless preferred.
bread crumbs - seasoned with basil & parsley (no oregano if you can help it)
Parmesan cheese
Salt, pepper

Puree the garlic, Olio, and tabasco together.

mix the bread crumbs, cheese and seasoning.

Dip the chops in the olio mix, then dredge in the bread crumb mix.

Pan, oven, bake 350 for 30 mins.

A side of home made mashed potatoes made with cream, butter, white pepper, salt and fresh nutmeg and this is my wife's favorite meal.

Look for the white bulbs in the plastic sleeves. On the tag it says "Imported from China".

I can see fresh fruit from South America in the winter and bananas from the tropics being imported - but the wealthiest and most productive farming nation on earth importing crap - because it is cheap(er). I don't get it.
