picked up a walther "bond-james" ppk/s fer a steal
yep had my eye on one of these fer a while now. list out about $605 bucks. gunbroker sometimes has some deals as well as gunsamerica if urine quick on da trigger finger to "BUY IT NOW"!
smith and wesson took over for the past importer interarms. now made at smith and wesson factory here in u.s. SO JUANCE AGIN I STIMULATED DA ECONOMY! in case none of you are aware the q.c. on smith/wesson products is second to none. i am very partial to their model 29's and 629's as well as their model 60's. never been a real fan of their auto line but none the less appear to be good quality. walther pistols now mfged by smith and wesson here in da good 'ol u.s.a. well just downloaded the manual for the WALTHER PPK/S STAINLESS .380, i bought yesterday for the SCREAMING OBSCENE PRICE OF $389 out the door! holy ned what a screaming ass deal! couldnt for the life of me pass this juan up! even to the point of driving girlfriend nuts about it. "why do you have to buy guns now? why do you need more guns?" if she only knew my evil anti zombee plan to buy every gun i ever wanted before i die plan! hahahahahahahaha this damn gun after just a couple of minutes of looking at it appears to never have been fired with exception of my jumping off I-17 yesterday a mile or so and blasting 14 rds of crap blazer ammo to confirm action and trigger pull. bought some nice hornaday anti-zombee hollowpoints we still need to confirm feed diet, but by and by this lil shooter is da katz ass as far as fit finish quality pocket rocket. not very different from mauser and hk4 design. simple take down, simple cleaning simple reassemble. for those times ya just want to pack something but dont want the hassle of a rig and the weight, hanging off your belt or stuffed in your cargo pants pocket. now if i can only find some snake shot for this juan........................ |

Good luck with that. If there really was a James Bond and he really did have a PPK, there would have been only one Bond movie. He would be dead. I've had a a PPK-S and a PP. Both were the most unreliable guns I have ever owned. Don't stake your life on it. They jam constantly.

thats why in the next hour my son and i are going shooting. once again slam a bunch of different flavors thru it and see what flavor it likes. already read a bunch of articles on these from various writers. thay are finicky eaters of ammo. federal was the "food" of choice that all articles liked.
going now for a search of used stainless sig sauer p-232 in .380. why? cuz i can and what the hell its money in the bank and in the safe. i like small guns in semi auto for when it gets hot here and all ya wear is shorts and a t-shirt to the bank grocery store etc. tooooo simple to conceal. the best part of these mouse guns...............is most were bought by a chick or bought for a chick. therefore the most maybe a box of 25 rounds thru them and then all they do is sit in a closet or under a mattress until they figure out what a jerk this boyfriend is and give him the heave HO and off to another guy and the gun gets sold. hahahahaha and then i swoop in like a harris hawk and scoop 'em up CHEAP! tear 'em apart and make them SHOOTERS! my eyeballs over some kona coffee this early am spied some edges that my dremel tool can make mince meat out of alongside the ramp and make this juan purr like a kitten. making them reliable is all they need. bang bang 7 times is all they have to do in life IF EVER called for. they are better than NOTHING! |

I'm gonna spend the rainy day doing reloads for my .357 Smith. Doing both blanks and wad cutters. The Weather Channel predicts a major dump and with the recent fires, some flooding and mud flows. The older I get, the more I appreciate the simplicity of the wheel gun.
Anyone want to buy a low mileage Smith and Wesson .40 Sigma? Stay tuned to the network coverage of "if" Oprah loses her house. She seems to get more ink avoiding fires and floods than anyone else.

Isn't that the same gun Hitler used to shoot himself? Seemed to work ok for him.
I got a Walther P-22 for the wife and it's been fine so far. I don't think it will be a CCW gun for her, but it's fine for the range. Hey Charles, Scottsdale Gun Club has another batch of police turn-in Glock 22's for $319 each. Two weeks ago I saw some really nerdy guy on line at the grocery store. He had what looked like a PPK in a cell phone holster on his belt, sort of in the front of his pants. Looked so nerdy. But at least he was prepared. I was unarmed, wearing sweatpants.

if you want just as good of a gun as a PPK, with less cost, go for a surplus Polish P64. I've got a collection of these types of guns, and they all function well.
my CZ70 is actually my favorite...makes a great CCW when loaded with S&B/Buffalo Bore .32acp, alternating in the mags.

![]() The bottom one is an FEG PA-63 in 9x18 Makarov. There are a bunch of these Hungarian made pistols on the market right now for around $140-$170. They were military and police issue until around 1996 I believe. Mine looked basically new and came with a spare mag (I jus picked up two more mags for $20) I did some trigger and spring work to mine which transformed it into a great little shooter. I have fired a couple hundred rounds thru it with Zero issues thus far. The alloy frame makes it pretty light to carry but it also makes the recoil a little stouter than a steel framed Makarov (A stiffer recoil spring helps to alleviate some of the kick). They are very reliable and quite a few folks use them for concealed carry. It is pretty much a knockoff of the Walther PP.

well we shot it. and with the crap aluminum blazers(FMJ) we had some FTF's (failure to feed). went thru a 50 box and really all myself and my son had to do when we had a FTF was push slide forward and then go bang.
as we neared the end of the first box FTF's were less evident. break-in??? ammo is my bet. then we shot some spendy hornaday 90gr JHP/XTP's thru it . feeding was better and we only had (2) FTF situations. as before shove slide forward and bang. i also kind of suspect the one and only clip i got so i will buy another walther ppk/s clip and try it again. after that the dremel comes out. took it apart and wiped excess MIL-COMM lube off of everything. out of 7 rds. had 2 more FTF . took it apart again wiped everything up. we then proceeded to light up countryside with M-1 carbine and 15/30/40 rd clips. all went well with .30 cal except the bolt wouldnt stay back in its lil recess and i suspect its the spring or the plunger head is worn. will drop off this week at phil arrington who werked on it last and have him fix it. $2 part if that. we also had a 30 rd clip that was giving us some FTF situations and i suspect it to be just dirty inside no big deal there. then we took the brand new VIRGINAL M-2 TACTICAL BENELLI 12ga SNOTGUN and blasted hell out of the countryside with the new STREAMLIGHT on the barrel clamp in the on position. 7 rds blam blam blam blam blam blam blam. no problems with streamlight. this damn thing WILL BLIND YOU! $109 bucks from cactustactical.com here in phx. since my buddy bill johnson(jim patricks uncle) was burglarized last week and my g/friends grandmothers house was broken in a few blocks from me to the west i decided to up the ante and my new drill is when i come home.................... i open the safe and place M-2 BENELLI TACTICAL mit der STREAMLIGHT und extended tube magazine NEXT TO BED! beats the hell outta a .45 with no light for home defense from zombees. streamlight will attach to any picatinny style rail(on my benelli barrel/mag tube clamp). i bought this from cactus tactical and its made by nordiccomponents.com in minnesota. mag tube extension and mag/barrel clamp with picatinny are top knotch machined. for 18 1/2 " barrel cut nordic components spring to 11 1/2 " BEYOND factory benelli mag tube length and nordic component mag tube extension overall length. werked perfect on 2 1/2 " number 6 bird shot and 3" magnums. then the BIG TEST OF STREAMLIGHT AND MY SONS SHOULDER!!!!! 7 rounds 3" REMINGTON MAGNUM TRIPLE (000) BUCK SHOT! as fast as he could pull the trigger. ohhhhh this was good...........very good! one 20 year old son with grin ear to ear and one streamlight still working bright as hell. 3 gun test completed. all three cleaned and put back to sleep in safes. this week get carbine fixed. buy another ppk/s mag and read about walther PPK/S FTF stories and see whats up. by the way i also heard hitler ventilated his skull with a walther. but i have also read and heard it was a mauser. will try and trace this one down since im a history nut. and yes in the morning when i leave for werk the M-2 goes back into safe. not gonna leave that damn thing out for someone to grab! |

yep just got done reading some ppk/s forums. some have no problems out of the box and others do.
most everyone agrees that ramp polishing and proper 200 -300 rd break-in is omni impotent. sooooooooo... we will play with dremel tool and polish ramp and try some other flavors before sending back to smith und wesson. ramp angle from magazine is very steep in comparison to other guns its size. dremel polish will more than likely solve problem. many others would be disappointed, but im not. before i go to hacking will have nelson ford my gunsmith lay some DYKEM machinists blueing where he wants me to polish and this will be a fun father/son "learn how to polish a semi-pistols ramp" project. what the hell.........i like these lil mouse guns. having 2 kids always precludes buying (3) of each flavor gun and usually everyone single one gets played with by me or my gunsmith amigos so they always go bang. having the ppk/s and the hk4 just demands the hell out of me buying the sig in .380 NEXT! hahahahaha. |

Shot the P22 again today at the range along with the 10/22 and p226. The P22 has never failed with good ammo (CCI MiniMag). Did try some cheap Fiocchi stuff from the range once as we didn't bring a second box of CCI and there were a couple of FTF in the 10/22. Luckily .22 ammo is reasonable so I'll just buy good stuff. That said I'm ordering up a royal sample of various rounds from Natchez to try with the 10/22. I also want to pick up a Mark III for plinking though i'd really like to get a Trailside but not sure they can come into CA any more...

Most of the shooting I did with my PA-63 was prior to my tinkering with it. The feed ramp as purchased, had some machining marks in it, yet it just plain worked every round. Now the feed ramp as well as some other parts are smooth as a baby's @ss and the trigger is pretty d@mn nice too I must say. The little b@stard is pretty d@mn accurate also. I must say it is pretty d@mn tempting to blast you some shiit for saying you like a weapon that does not go bang every time. Especially after you talked trash about AR15's so much (mine has never had a FTF... not once) That said, congrats on a sweet looking little carry gun.

I was shooting silver tip most times. But I had two that were the same way. Don't you think that is a little strange? I'm with Tim. Why even think of using a weapon for protection that has failed you on occasion? My Colt's eat anything and go bang EVERY time. I have thought of buying one of the Maks that Tim has. They are a really nice gun, and stupid cheap.
