zombie (dis)approved

The Remington 870 will come home on Friday, with the Browning BuckMark to follow next week. For the time being this will have to keep the zombies busy...

I know you like to be artistic, but you could have done a better job with the towel layout....

A flash would have brought out a little more detail on the black handguns

No wonder the gun store shelves are empty. I went to Turner's the other week and the shelves were half empty! That said, while you are at it: In your collection, you will need something that reaches out farther. You need a scoped high powered rifle. I recommend a .300 Win Mag as a good "medium".

I was just perusing for ammo online and saw an awful lot of sold-out/backordered stuff. Good thing I did a lot of shopping during the Kerry and Obama campaigns...

Nice Rugers Nostatic!

I hope that after firing the Mini-14 and getting to know it you'll come to love the design like millions of US soldiers that have carried it's big brother have.

I reloaded 300 rounds of .45ACP and 500 rounds of .40S&W this weekend. I took my Sig P226 to the range on Friday and used the .40S&W, then switched to the .357Sig barrel for the 1st time. The .357Sig is a flamethrower! Excellent shooting gun!

i cleaned MORE GUNS this weekend. its become a fetish. safe queens that havent seen daylight forever. sent walther ppk/s back to smith und wesson. reading their website smith und wesson as of 2/20/09 RECALLED A HUGE BATCH OF WALTHER PPK/S. this is an hour after i shipped mine via overnight air to smith. just started laughing at my good fortune. FREE SAFETY DECOCKER UPGRADE on top of all the other goodies im having done to it via cylinderandslides.com wunderbar menu of goodie stuff that smiths custom shop will do over and above safety/decocker/feed issues. man what timing. if ya have a PPK/S from the beginning of smith und wessons production run you better check yer serial number and see if it falls into that category that is being recalled. hell its free and smith und wesson pick up shipping both ways. im just glad mines already in the pipeline. hopefully i shouldnt have to wait very long.

nostactic................go to tacticalshotguns.com for goodies for the 870. think real damn hard before you light off any double OO or triple OOO magnum 3" buckshot thru that 870!!!!!!!!! I AM SER-I-ASS! ask me how i know???? bean der done dat!

This is why I could never run for political office.

The 'McCain Embarrassment Factor'.

Question: "Candidate Gearhead, we understand your strong support for the Second Amendment. Can you share with our listeners just how many firearms you own?"

Answer: " ummm ...no I can't."

Question: "You really don't want to tell?"

Answer: "No ...I really don't know for certain what that precise number is!"

_______________

If you know exactly how many firearms you own, you are either;

A. excessive-compulsive in your daily life's order-of-things.
or
B. you don't have ENOUGH YET!

Good start Nostatic. Keep em coming!

I saw a Mini-14 at the gun show yesterday for $895. Same one as in the photo above. WTF? They're cheaper than that at Wal-Mart.

Can you actually find one at Walmart?

No distributor has the blue/hardwood in stock right now and Ruger is saying 3-4 month wait. I found mine by chance when a Pelican posted a link to one in WA, and I happily paid $700 for it.

$700 isn't too bad in today's market, but they were under $600 at Wal-Mart for the stainless version a year ago. I wish I had snagged one. Now they are a very hot item. I don't know if Wal-Mart has them anymore. But Ruger made a special 10/22 edition only for Wal-Mart and it's actually a very nice stock. I got one here for $242 out the door. I hate the faux marine grey spray paint on the barrel and receiver, but will have it all refinished eventually. I just wanted that stock. How crazy is it that a Wal-Mart stock could become a collector's item? I saw one at the gun show for $300 yesterday! But then the same gun was $340 at the gun show a few weeks ago.
