KLSX Radio in LA drops talk format.
Effective today or maybe this weekend (not sure which), 97.1 FM KLSX radio is dropping the all talk format and switching to top 40. I wonder where Carolla and Leykis will land????

I was disappointed by this news because I listen to Carolla a lot, although I thought the show had gone down hill lately. There was too much contrived stuff and not enough of Carolla ranting and raving and going off on tangents. However, starting on Sunday or Monday, he is going to be doing a 45-60 minute podcast out of his home that he hopes will eventually start to have guests and expand into a bigger show. You can get the podcast at adamcarolla.com.
Hopefully this will get the Aceman re-energized and back to his old Loveline form. If he only he would go back to that show, radio would be golden again.

I've been a fan of the Adam Carolla show since 2006 - it's a shame that the regular show is going off the air, but I'm looking forward to checking the podcast out on Monday.

They were a rock n roll station before they went talk radio.
To this day it freaked me out to tune in and hear people yammering away... I guess not so much anymore.

adam corolla is fantastic. super funny and his wit is lightning fast. i was hooked on that TV show he did, where he bought his dad's house, remodeled it, and flipped it. it was so funny. his co-host on the show, the brunette lady, was great too. funny, cute, all smart sounding. sad.

Adam's great - I've been listening to him since he started on KROQ back in the 90s. I've met him a few times and his head is huge. Not figuratively speaking - literally. He's like a cartoon character!
I fly radio control airplanes at a field up in the valley and he will often stop by to browse the bigger jet events we have. He seems like a nice guy when I've met him and I do enjoy his show and his general shtick. I have a 2 mile commute so my listening was limited but I enjoyed Adam and Tom and sometimes their other jocks. I was surprised to hear the news.

I was surprised when they first went to all talk radio. I thought it was a pretty good station before that.
I was fully prepared to hate Adam Carolla, but I thought he was very good. |

That is not good... that is a great station to listen to in the car...another top 40 station is unnecessary. Regarding Adam Karrola, I was on the same NY to LA flight with him a couple of years ago...Im usually the last to board a plane, so Im sitting out there and Karolla walks up.. a bunch of fans surrounded him and he talked for as long as he could before boarding... then I boarded and saw that he had the first seat, in first class.... after the flight landed... I was towards the back of the plane, and when I got out... Karolla was still standing out in the LAX waiting area talking with a big group of fans. He was the first off the plane, and stayed behind to talk to people.......Not many celebs, if any would take the time to do that.

Wayne, about halfway down this page there is a post with links to about 90% of every Loveline that Carolla has ever done. I have downloaded about 4gb so far. http://mahalo.30.forumer.com/index.php?showtopic=8923&st=75 Here is a link to a review thread in which some of the funniest and most bizarre callers, stories, rants and guests are discussed. Many of the links to episodes in this thread are dead, but most have a date with them, so you can use that as a reference and download them from the above link. http://mahalo.30.forumer.com/index.php?showtopic=673

Oh yeah... he was definately milking the moment taking as long as he could before boarding... I was right behind him when we walked on to the plane, and he got seat #1...of course I was seated in the back.

That's funny...the "classic rock" station up here is on the exact same bandwidth.

The Adam Carolla podcast is excellent. I suggest for everyone that is even the slightest fan of him should check it out. It was also announced that it is currently the most downloaded podcast.
