It's a Mopar with a nose job. Really, couldn't they have tried a bit harder to hide the truth? The inside isn't up to VW standards either, it's more Chrysler than VW.

What are "VW" standards?

I have always felt VW's were a step removed from junk. Those cars do not age well, and man are they expensive to fix once they do. They're also substantially over priced, especially when new. I had a couple of them in my youth.....never again.

If you want to pay German car acquisition/repair/parts prices and have german car hassles, get a BMW/Mercedes/Porsche.

Buying a fake VW is even crazier because of the financial fleecing you'll take, though, it would probably be much cheaper and easier to repair than a 'real' VW. I personally would take a Chrysler over the average VW any day of the week. Town and countries are quite nice as long as they're in good shape, especially considering what you'll save vs the competitors.

You can get the Subaru Forrester XT in a turbocharged version that will run the quarter mile in about 13.5 seconds. Haha.

VWs feature some of the best fit and finish this side of a Maybach. Their materials and interior design are absolutely top notch. Chrysler, on the other hand, is the domain of mousefur fabric and thin hard plastics. Rattles, horrible fit, obvious mold lines, and cheap tactile feel are features on every Chrysler I've driven.

You might have an argument in regards to reliability. It's really not available on any VW. It's pretty much a given that you'll replace a lot of sensors, have a lot of electrical gremlins, and hate life every time you fix anything. Of course, reading user reviews for Chrysler products, I can't say they're any better. New transmission at 30k...........no thanks. Of course, with the Routan you get a crappy Chrysler drivetrain matched with inferior interior quality, at a high price. How could you go wrong?

I'm with you on the Forester, they're pretty sweet cars. Someone in town has one that's modified and lowered, it's a mean looking wagon.
