It wasnt easy to find lunch for less than $30 when I was there last month. Dinner? Not a chance. The rooms are cheap now, I guess they make up for it with the food.

If that's the case, there goes the best part of Vegas for me. I hope that's just on the strip, not downtown where I usually stay.

I never eat on the Strip. Best diner I've ever been to is the Egg & I on West Sahara. And there are plenty of good Chinese places on Spring Mtn. Rd.

Since I lost the gambling bug I have not had much desire to visit Vegas. But Dayum the hotel prices are cheap... and if I can get food deals like tabs is posting it is very tempting!

Harrahs Casinos and Station Casino are facing BK. The Wynn has cut hours down to 32. Boyd is likely to pick up most of the Station Casinos.. The Review Journal is the local newspaper and costs .75 cents. That is factored into the $6. I don't keep up with what is going on, on the Strip. Times are tough. We are home vacancy city No. 1 tied with Orlando... The RE market is such that for every new foreclousre there is a home sale. So the inventory is stablizing. Prices are washed out...hopefully bottomed out. My friends bought a new home in 2006 on a Golf Course for $750K plus pool and decorating brought it to over $800K. Today a similar house on their street sold for $416,000. The people next door to them have not made a payment for 5 months. Their neighbor works for the local Mexican Television station selling on air advertising time.
