Ever Feel like its General Quarters!

Both of my Dodge vehicles have warning bells and chimes. They were installed to save you from yourself. When I stop to get gas..Dong Dong Dong! loud enough to be heard down the street. I have briefly looked around under the dash to find this little nuisance piezo basta_d to unplug it or fill it with epoxy. They have protected them by installing them somewhere in the abyss of your dash!

It is getting more annoying all the time to feel like your at "General Quarters Man Your Battle Stations" everytime I start my cars.

I guess I just don't like the dong because it reminds me a some kind of Pavlovian "please save me" forking experiment. I can see Nancy Pelosi saying it is a good idea!

Also, I suspect they selected the most obnoxious shrieked gong and dong available.

Don't say...well just put on your seat belt and problem solved. I don't want to put my seat belt to just move my car out of the driveway or put gas in it. I want to put my seatbelt on when I get ready.

All vehicular dongs, buzzers, bells should die...

Bob

Pierce your eardrums. Problem solved.

You can get them both done for $20 at the mall kiosk.

I also hate the chirping that the car does when I set the alarm, and the flashing lights. It's freaking annoying, and I hate myself every time I lock or unlock the car. Then I hate the insurance company more for making me set the alarm, and I hate the car manufacturer for not letting me simply lock the car, without setting the alarm.

Then I hate anyone within earshot of the chirping car...then I hate their parents for having birthed them so I would have the opportunity to hate them.

Usually I have a beer then.

Mike, LOL!

Your funny! I hate my alarms too. I feel like a nuisance when the horn honks at 4 AM in the morning. I'm sure my neighbors like it. I'm forbidden to drive my 930 to work because it runs soooo good with a zork and I would have to leave at 4 AM, pissing everybody off in a mile radius. Like putting a bugle on your Harley exhaust.

Ha!

Many of these can be disabled with various maneuvers using the key. Check your owner's manual. I was able to at least disable the seat belt chime in my '06 Dodge. Others you can likely unplug if you find the right wire.

Mark,

I did something to disembowel that chronic chirp dong by turning the key on and off a few times in less than 30 seconds IIRC. Now it just blows when you turn the ignition on....But still totally annoying!

I want search and destroy!

Bob,
Yeah, it still goes off at first but not if you leave the belt off. I have some property I drive around slowly, get out often, etc. and didn't want to have to do my belt over and over. This solved my problem.
