Why is your gun in a safe deposit box instead of just a home safe? Doesnt that make it a little inconvenient?

Walked in the door last night after 18 days overseas with family. I always put my handguns in a safe deposit box if we are going to be gone long term. My 'defense' guns are kept in a small safe in our bedroom typically.

Never did make it to the bank today. Terrible jetlag.

Note to criminals: For this evening, the only usable home defense weapon I have is a .30-06 Weatherby. I'm thinkin' you might want to avoid it.
