Kit Car on Speed

I caught the last half of the show. They are taking a Boxter and putting a Carrera GT body kit on it.
Now I'm no expert in body work but they used a sawzall to cut fiberglass panels, and a chopsaw to trim the old sideview mirrors.
Tons of bondo was used to fill major gaps, and mount the mirrors to new housings.
Did anyone else catch this show??

Yeah...that looks like it will be a pile of ***** when it's done. Ebay special for sure. The couldn't have picked a dirtier shop to do the work in either.

My husband and I watched it this morning. Now bear in mind that we BUILD kit cars... What an appalling monkey raped pile of ****.

There are wonderful adhesive materials to bond parts together, but no. They used bondo.... They even bondo-ed the rear light assemblies in place. Take the time to build a mounting system to replace these parts properly you twitching flatulant bondo-dust high morons!!!!

When you stretch a chassis (nothing wrong with that when done properly) you have to take great care with the electricals, shift linkage and most importantly, the braking system. With the workmanship demonstrated on the body, my skin crawls at the thought of what will be present in the places that don't show. What are they going to extend the hydraulic lines with - garden hose?

This is the type of crap that gives kit cars a bad name. You want to know what a kit car is? THIS is a kit car! One you can send your wife out for a 2,500 mile trip through the desert with by herself!

Man I wish people would learn that Bondo is a filler, not an adhesive.

I was flipping channels this morning and also caught the 2nd half of this. I sat there in awe of how awful that looked. Particularly loved the chop saw on the ground to precisely trim that mirror shell!

I'm glad that I wasn't the only one that thought their skills were lacking.

Ohhh! its "buy it now" OR "best offer"

I wonder if they would take $33.62?

Yea. Saw (pun intended) the show myself. Did a big grimace more than once.

Funny though, every time I get in my Boxster I wish I could take a sawzall, cut the floorboard and add about six inches to the cabin length. Course this kit car build added the length to the engine compartment not the cabin.
