Tax question - recently divorced
 
I moved out in August '08. We filed in September of '08 using a mediator. All the paperwork, including an affidavit to waive the right to appear in court, was signed, sealed and delivered before the end of calendar '08.

But the judge didn't sign the final decree until the first week in 09. Can we file as divorced for 08?

No. You aren't divorced until the order is signed.

You can still file separately, but married.

Well the reason divorce is soooooo expensive is because...it's worth it!!!!!
