woman and gas stations. why?

have you ever noticed how many woman sit in their cars will they are filling up?
whats up with that? my dad taught me not to leave the gas pump unattended. maybe the gas nozzle could fall out, cant say that it has ever happened. i guess the pump may not shut off when it is full. it sure seems like there are a lot they do this.

I've noticed that too.

I have had the pump not shut off when full. Would have been a dangerous mess if I wasn't standing right there.

what's up with people that don't pull all the way up to the front pump? or the 'tards that park in front of a pump to walk in and buy cigs?

The getting back into the car while refueling isolates the cell talking woman from being grounded while the car (with her in it) could be building a static charge. She then gets back out in her leather soled shoes, and removes the nozzle from the car. The car and the rest of the planet then try to equalize the static charge by a small spark as the gap between the car and the nozzle opens. Right at the opening of a full gas tank and vapor in the nozzle.

I was taught never to get in and out of the car while refueling for several reasons.

i see an employee that parks at the pump every day all day, this is another of my peeves, employees that park at the front door of the buisiness. maybe this will be my next thread, unless someone has talked about this then i dare not bring it up again.
i see all the employees parking at the fron of this japanese steak house i pass going home.

i have pulled up to the first pump because people were at the futherest, then they left. someone else pulls up and gives me a dirty look.

I used to have two roommates in college that would argue ad nauseum about anything. Surprisingly, I was not one of them. Anyway, sometime me and the fourth roommate (the other non-arguer) would start arguing about something, and the other two would jump in. Me and the guy who started the argument would often resolve the problem when the other two were going at each other. At that point, we'd pop some popcorn, sit down on the couch, and watch.

Many guys do that too. Some are sitting/waiting and talking on the phone. Soon he drops the phone, he twists the key and hit the gas.

the search is a pain in the a@@, trying to read thru all the BS is time consuming, and i certainly am not going to search on " woman and gas stations". so do us all a favor and if you dont want to add, then move on.
even though your comment has put me in a bad mood, i mean this is a nice way.
i wish wayne would put a sticky on the tech page that says, "DO A SEARCH" that would save all those out there from having to type it.
You read a lot into that one statement. I read it simply as a comment that this has been a common theme lately here on the messageboard.

There was a mythbusters episode on Cell phones causing explosions at gas stations (not real likely), but they were reviewing the statistics and women cause fires 4 to 1 by getting back into the car while filling. When they get out of the car its common for them to have static build up and sometimes it ignites the gas. The worst thing you can do at that point is to pull the nozzle out this apparently causes more fuel to burn and the potential for an explosion is there.

I think the episode was in season 1, but I am not certain.
