What did Nostradamus say about our economic crisis?

Any Nostradamus experts here? Anything in his predictions? What did he say about O?

It all ends in 2012...oh wait...maybe that's the Mayan Calendar?

Found this:

Century 8 – Quatrain 28

Old French :

“Les simulachres d'or & d'argent enflez,
Qu'apres le rapt lac au feu furent iettez
Au descouuert estaincts tous & troublez.
Au marbre escripts, perscripts interiettez"

English:

"The copies of gold & silver inflated,
which after the theft were thrown into the lake
at the discovery that all is exhausted & dissipated by debt.
All scripts and bonds will be wiped out"

This quatrain seems clearly to describe a huge economic crisis leading to a brutal end of the monetary system.

My own interpretation of the quatrain:

When values (paper-gold?) representing the precious metals have become so numerous, a huge scam (treachery?) affecting worldwide economies will be discovered, the banknotes and securities devalued and being good just to be burned.

All (people) will be disturbed and shocked by the news that affects both equities and currencies that both will be thrown out.

Don’t you think it’s amazingly accurate describing the actual financial crisis?

Here is a different interpretation of VIII.28

VIII.28

[after the discovery, following the disastrous floods of 9 September 1557, of numerous pagan ritual objects from the now-ruined temple of Diana that had been thrown into the Sacred Lake at Nîmes with the coming of Christianity]

The puffed up images of gold and silver,
which after the sack were thrown into the lake,
when found, shall astonish and disturb everybody.
The inscription[s] on the marble shall be interpreted as laws.

--------------

"It is not only skeptics such as James Randi who suggest that his reputation as a prophet is largely manufactured by modern-day supporters who fit his words to events that have either already occurred or are so imminent as to be inevitable, a process sometimes known as "retroactive clairvoyance." There is no evidence in the academic literature to suggest that any Nostradamus quatrain has ever been interpreted as predicting a specific event before it occurred, other than in vague, general terms that could equally apply to any number of other events."

Funny but Nostradamus was quoted at saying: "Blue Horse Shoe Loves Anacot Steel. "
Not sure why but.......;-)

Nothing. he didn't know anything about it.
See, he lived a long, long time ago.
He liked to write a whole bunch of generalities that might be interpreted a hundred different ways, which fools tend to do.
