Good time to buy GE?
My GOD the company has such a wide base of investments and operations. How can the stock not be a buy at $6?
And I believe the TARP funds should help them, not? This is not my area of expertise, for I have none, the stock just appears cheap.

When all of this financial chaos "finally" shakes out, there are going to be people that make a lot of money. (I hope to be one of them.)
Certain stocks (GE is assuredly one) that are beaten to death in this mess will be fantastic purchases. ...the million dollar question now is, where is the bottom? NO ONE can predict with absolute certainty a correct time line for recovery, so IMO, make your own choices and live with them.

IIRC, GE Capital is a drag on the stock. When will it be completely factored into the stock price?

Immelt (GE CEO) is on Obama's Economic Advisory Board, FWIW.
That should have some weight in any decision to invest in GE, IMO. |

Why am I not surprised??? Probably the worst CEO in GE's history is advising the Obamanation. If Obama had any interest in doing something right for this country, he'd be listening to Jack Welch...not Jeff Imelt.
