PayPal Virgin
I'm an ebay and paypal virgin. I've got a MacIntosh MR-77 FM tuner on ebay and I've got a bid of $400 (my minimum) right now. The guy who bid asked for some more pics. He's in Italy (he claims) can I get burned with Paypal in that he transfers the funds, I ship the item and then he claims he's not happy and reverses the money and keeps the unit? What else could go wrong.
Thanks for any advice. SmileWavy |
Link the Paypal account to a checking account at your local bank. Don't keep much, if any, money in that account (we have an account dedicated to just Paypal.) When you receive funds in your Paypal account, move them to your bank account and then withdraw them as cash or move them elsewhere.

PayPal also tends to favor sellers in a transaction, so the purchaser would have to prove his case pretty thoroughly/convincingly to get his funds and keep your item. Be sure you use some sort of tracking/signature confirmation when shipping. |

I've had zero problems with Paypal on both sides of transactions.
However, I probably would not ship an expensive piece of stereo equipment to a foreign country - without cash in advance. Most of my auctions block non US/Canadian bidders and/or ask them to contact me directly before bidding. |
